Stephens threw to Oehlrlch for sixteen yards and Brown repeated with another flip to the Columbus boy which netted nine yards. Then came Blue Howell and smashed nineteen yards to a touchdown in six plays.

Washington supporters saw shades of George Wilson, their own line -1 cracker par excellence, when the Omaha athlete smashed for gains time after time. Stephens missed the try ior point by Inches and the Huskies still led by 7 to 6. Guttormsen and Tesreau ripped off a pair of pains which put the Huskies in position to count again in the second quarter. A 15-yard penalty Inflicted when Joe Weir was banished for piling on a tackled Washington player, set the Huskers back to the 14-yard line. Cook Comes to Rescue.

Cook. field goal kicker, who has made eight in nine attempts this season, was rushed In. He forgot and talked to a player and Washington was back fifteen yards. But It did not matter to Cook. He dropped back to the 30-yard line and placed a perfect field goal between the posts for the last points either team had been able to make.

There even a hint of stigma attached to the defeat Insofar as is concerned. Glen Presnell made a costly fumble after rip ping thru for five yards deep in Huskie territory, but that can hap pen to anybody lugging a wet ball, and it was the only fumble of the moments of the fourth period. CHADRON, Nov. Chadron Eagles won the state conference championship by defeating Midland college 7 to 0, here today, while Hastings was trimming Nebraska Wesleyan 13 to 0. The Eagles not only turned back all conference opponents this year but they also kept their goal uncrossed hy conference opposition. Chadron put over its touchdown In the opening quarter when it look the ball on 35-yard line, and went over the goal in five plays.
