SANTA ANA DAILY REGISTER, SATURDAY EVENING, OCTOBER 9, 1926 7 Attractions at Santa Ana Theaters YOST THEATER Drama, comedy and a gorgeous background are the outstanding remembrances of Love Thief," the picture opening tonight at the Yost theater. Rapid action, a sweet love story, and some very clever comedy to relieve the dramatic moments are tho of this pot pourrl of entertainment. Through it all suspense is kept at a high pitch by the intrigues of grasping foreign powers whose representatives are in the court. We have two countries about to make war, with Norman Kerry representing one and Greta Nissen the other. A marriage is arranged to avert a calamity but Kerry falls in love and refuses to take part in the royal wedding.

WEST COAST-WALKER Another big feature week is in store for theater lovers starting Sunday when the West Coast- Walker theater will present Monte Blue In his latest and best picture, the which will share the honors with one of the most pretentious road shows ever produced by Fancbon and Marco, who are offering the Francisco Beauties Idea" featuring Armond and Perez with the famous Francisco beauties." This mammoth program is in keeping with the policy of the West Coast-Walker theater to give the public the best entertainment available both on the screen and stage. Way Watts and his "Play Boys," who have taken Santa Ana by storm augment the bill, with an entire new program. Monte Blue in the the West Coast-Walker picture, reaches new heights in a two-fisted part, which he fills to perfection. He is ably supported by Myrna Loy and Jane Winton. The theme of the story is of national interest and historical importance.

Gorgeous costumes especially designed by Miss Fanchon is one of the outstanding features of the "San Francisco Beauties Idea" which scored a decided hit in the town It is named after before taking the road, coming direct from an engagement at Warfield theater in San Francisco. COMING uesday WEST-COAST WALKER The Fanchon and Marco "Specialty closing at the West Coast-Walker theater tonight Is said to be one of the finest entertainment bills ever presented in Santa Ana. Th majority of the bill Is dancing, from comedy eccentric to buck and wing; and singing. Charles Beauchamp is the featured entertainer, and will be remembered by many as the stor of the Beauties also produced by Fanchon and Marco, which was offered here a short time ago. The act is composed entirely of hlgh-caliber entertainers including pretty Vera Van. Scotty Weston, the "Dean of the Marshall and Pirtle, Two Original Pods of Pepper;" Nellie Thompson, a clever comedienne; and Charles Beauchamp.

Owing to the connection of the West Coast-Walker theater, with the giant chain of West Coast theaters, Santa Ana is able to maintain this metropolitan type of entertainment, which is in up-to-the-minute stage productions. Of course, she is discovered and during a raging hurricane, when the captain seeks to force his attentions upon her, a ship's cook's assistant comes to her rescue. Seena Owen is the girl and Joseph Schildkraut, the battling hero. The ship, almost dismantled by the storm, Is abandoned by the crew, leaving the girl and boy to their fate. They drift to an island where many interesting scenes transpire and a smashing climax is reached.

YOST BROADWAY THEATER Renee Adoree, whose portrayal In "The Big Parade," has been acclaimed one of the outstanding performances of the year, began her screen career, oddly enough, as an Irish girl. Tom sister In one of his pictures, the little French mademoiselle successfully Interpreted a daughter of Erin and thus embarked on a film career that has given her a wide range of parts. Miss Adoree has a preference for roles iri which she can give full rein to a vivid personality. Unlike other players, she read or joke between scenes.
