BOWLING ON THE LOCAL ALLEYS OAKLAND COUNCIL, NATIONAL UNION ENJOYS AN EVENING WITH THE PINS. Oakland Council, N'o. 7:5. National I'n-ion. capped the climax of its famous open meetiygs ana socials when, on last Tuesday evening, the council gave a "bowling party" at the Oakland Bowling Alleys on Thirteenth street.

Two alleys had been previously engaged for the occasion. Cards bearing numbers were distributed to the partici pants and sides were formed, the odd numbers on one. the even on the other assuming the names of "Odds" and "Evens'" respectively. Interest and excitement began with the first ball rolled and never ceased until after two games had been completea. Not only were the "Odds'" and all excitement, but the boys setting up the pins joined In the amusement and finally all the bowlers in the alleys took a part.

Poor plays were cheered as well as good untilthe whole place eeh oed and re-echoed with shouts of ap planse and laughter. lhe hrst as well as the second game was won by the "Evens." Jillett won the prize with the higTiest score for the evening of 180 points. Kitchener a close second with 176. The prize was a handsome briar -pipe with amber mouthpiece. Adams made a score of 141, which was phenomenal considering it was the hrst' time he had ever bowled.

This council will listen to statement from the candidate and then advise the church as to the ordination. William Day of Seattle, who has made tne long journey for this purpose. The charge to the people will be given by the Rev.
