Discussion. REFORM MOVEMENT Agrees Upon a Candidate For Principalship Of the High School--Report Will Be Made Friday--New School Building Matter. As It Was Viewed 'By a Visiting Newspaper Man Sunday. The Lorain Herald last evening published the following with reference to the reform movement in Sandusky: "A Herald man was in Sandusky yesterday that the reforms being worked there are bearing wonderful results. Every house of ill fame has been closed and the inmates driven Harrison phone 780.

Saloons were all closed yesterday in-the city and-at--Cedar- Points--The 5,000 excursionists at the resort 'were very much disappointed and the management was continually cursed. The men who have been active in the enforcement of the law are suffering in their business, but they have gained iheir point and Sandusky, which for, years was a wide open town, is dry on.

Sunday and the laws of the state are re- ipected. The saloon men are more than obeying the law. They are preparing to prosecute any one who labors on the Sabbath hereafter. A fund has been, started and every Sabbath breaker, be he a dock laborer or street car man, will suffer the There will be a regular meeting of the board of education Friday evening and the session will be one of more than usual importance. Perhaps the most interesting matter that will come up will be the report of the teachers committee, who have finally agreed upon the appointment of a principal of the High school to succeed Miss Ida Win- date, of Delaware, who was elected, but who resigned immediately to accept a position a preceptress of Monneit hall, Delaware.

After careful consideration the committee, which consists of myer, Bnerkle and Andrews, has decided to appoint another man, who was in the city one day quite recently. He is from Pennsylvania, is married and is a practical school man. He has held his present position for three years and is held in high esteem by the board ol education of the place where he is now located. It is understood that salary which he has been offered is slightly less than that which was tendered to Miss Although he has not yet agreed to accept the appointment, it is practically sure that he will do so. For the present the committee withholds his name and the name of the Pennsylvania town from which he comes.

Another important matter that will come up at the meeting Friday evening will oe tne new school building project: PERSONAL. Mrs. Michael Blade has gone to Toledo to attond the marriage of her niece, Miss MayineYost, a former Sandusky young lady. She is to wed a rising young business man of Toledo. Mr, Harry Blair, of New York city, is hia parents on Columbus avenue.

Miss Elizabeth Both, of Norwalk, is visiting with Edith Giedeuian, 521 Clinton street. Mrs. M. Shields-Godfrey has returned for her eastern trip, having purchased a large line of fall millinery. Gordon Brinkerhoff and WiUJ.

Dunham, Centre View, pipe wrench; 'At that time the building committee -will have detailed plans of the proposed improvements and alterations to the Keech homestead property on Hayes avenue, in. case that is purchased by the board. One member of the committee stated to a reporter this afternoon that house could be very easily and cheaply fitted up for school purposes. In fact two of the rooms would require little if any alteration at all. Pending the purchase of property, the board will be forced to obtain temporary quarters for another school in the Seventh ward and Supt.

Stem and Miss Sallie Stem. Quite a little shake-up in circles has been created by the sale of two boats of the S. Y. C. fleet.

Commodore Emil G. Schmidt has negotiated' the sale of his fleet to Dr. J. Douglas two enthusiastic members of the San- dnsky Yacht club-, and will keepxtheir new purchase with the local fleet. The deal has not been quite closed, but it is assured that; it will go through all right.

Nothing is given out for publication with reference to the price paid for the boat. Commodore Schmidt says ihat business affairs demand so much of his ti that he cannot attend to yachting, but his friends say that it will not be long before he has another yacht. The trim little Kayak, owned by Capfc. F. B.

Rawsoa and Capt. Joseph Farrell, hatf been sol3 by them to Samuel Kimball, of Cleveland, who will keep her at one of the upper bay club houses, authoritatively stated Messrs: Rawson and Farrell with botlt build yachts during next winter and that they will be larger and finer crafts than the Kayak.
