Monday afternoon after a lingering illness Mr Johnson a prominent figure in banking and public utilities circles of Boise and Idaho died shortly after at a Boise hospital where he had been confined for nearly three months He had been seriously 111 for the past five months Born In Shawano Wis November 15 1862 Frank Fisk Johnson was the son of Albert and Elizabeth Fisk Johnson His pride was his New England ancestry He received his preparatory school education in Denver and graduated in 1884 from Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he studied chemistry mining and civil engineering Fame to Boise in 1910 He came to Idaho In 1887 and began his banking career as assistant cashier of the Bank of Murray in Shoshone county From there he went into the Bank of North Idaho and in 1892 organized the First National bank of Wallace of which he was president for 17 years Coming to Boise In 1910 Mr Johnson started as cashier of the old Boise City National bank In 1915 he became vice president then president and finally chairman of the board of directors Mr Johnson contributed to the establishment and development of banking all over the state He was at one time a member of the national council of bankers and served terms as president and chairman of the legislative committee of the Idaho association In addition to his banking activities in north Idaho and Boise Mr Johnson WASHINGTON The public debt has reached a new all-time peak of 834407864000 The daily treasury statement for December 30 disclosed Monday that 850000000 of new borrowing last week pushed the debt 837000-000 over the previous record high established last June With only one operations unaccounted for the statement showed a 81386013000 deficit for the first half of this fiscal year compared with
