would fell to about 725 per cent The prediction covering the final quarter of 1990 was wide of the mark however because the average for the last three months of inflation last month Britain cost of living rates still compare badly with many of our international competitors The 93 per cent is more than three times inflation rate of three per cent and compares with a European Community average of six per cent But the figures will nevertheless add to the growing pressure on Mr Lamont for an early cut in interest rates Although the cut is not enough to bring an immediate drop in interest rates
