LOCALS Mr and MM Orval Joseph had Mr and Mrs Marion Halterman of Wesley as guests Saturday afternoon and for supper. Mr and Mrs Wilbur Reinders were visited over the weekend by the former's mother and husband, Mr and Mrs Burke Mellema of Worthington, Minn. Judy, daughler of Mr and Mrs G-. W. Naylor, e/njlered Mercy hospital, Ft. Dodge, Monday. She .will undergo surgery on a foot tpday. It is expected she will be hospitalized for a week or ten days. Clark Orion went id Mason City Tuesday to consult with 6i'. O'Brien about his eyes, He has cataracts and plans to have surgery later. Mr and Mrs James ShilHnglon had as visitors Sunday and at supper, the latter's parents and sister, Mr and Mrs Hugh Walsh and Alice of Lone Rock. . Mr and Mrs Brady Hovn were visited Monday by the former's mother and sister, Mrs J. • J.- Rovn of Ringsted and Mrs Frank Nash of Cherokee. Mrs Earl Spraglie took Sue and Sandra Hutchins and Sandra Shumway to Cedar Falls Monday. The girls visited Iowa State Teachers college. M* and-.Mi's Hftnry Lund wete visited Sunday by their son and daughter-iff-law. Mr and Mrs Charles Lund of Ringsted. Mr and Mrs Don Hutchison spent the weekend at Iowa City with friends and attended the Iowa-Minnesota football game. Mrs Elizabeth Post returned Monday from Newton where she had spent a week with her sister- in-law, Mrs Martha Van Dorston. Mr and Mrs William Funk, Mr and Mrs Harold Petersqrt and Mr and Mrs Harold Manser were at Liyermore a week ago Sunday to attend the silver wedding anniversary of Mr and Mrs Oryille Riley, brother-in-law and sister of Mrs Funk. Mr and Mrs Vaughan Rising have been visited by the latter's brother, Bernard Wilson who for the past 7Vi months has been at an air base on Greenland. He had business interests at International Falls and went there for a time. He plans to return to Greenland when the season again opens for ( occupancy oi the base. Mr and Mts W. ft. .CiaWson were called to Webster City Friday by the death of Mr Clawson's sister, Mrs C. L. Stanford, 62. Mr and Mrs "Pal" Jensen spent the weekend at Cedar Rapids with Mr and Mrs H. R. Scroggs and also attended the Iowa-Minnesota football game at Iowa City. Mr and Mrs Grady Phillips drove to Mankato Sunday to bring home their daughter Sandra who had visited since Thursday with her friend, Sherd Arnott, daughter of Mr and Mrs Bob Arnott who were residents hen; while he was manager of the Algona broadcasting station. Mrs Manser is a niece Mr and Mrs Duane Logue recently drove to Red Oak (6 visit Mr Logue's brother and sister- irt-law, Mr and Mrs Sterling Logue, former residents of Livermore. Mr and 'Mrs William Ringgenberg spent Sunday at Blue Earth, Minn., with the latter's parents, Mr and Mrs Abe Tuttle. All wore supper guests of Mr and Mrs Hubert Tuttle. Mr and Mrs Vaughan Rising drove to Mason City Saturday to meet their son Jon and brought him home for the weekend. He is attending the University of Minnesota medical school.
