Mr and Mrs J. p. Smiih spent Sunday at Litchfield, Minn., with' Mr and Mrs Harley Smith, brother and sister-in-law of J P Smith. Mr and Mrs Herman Funk of Algona, and son, Frederick of Humboldt, attended the funeral of Paul Nitzsehky, at Oskaloosa. He was a brother-in-law of Funks'. Mr and Mrs Russell. Hodges, Sauna, Kan., drove ; as far as Omaha, and then came with Mr and, Mrs Leroy Dnvis to attend the ' funeral of Sherwood McDonald. They left the same afternoon for home. Mrs William Hessler was a patient at St. Ann hospital a-couples of days this week for minor surgery. Her mother, Mrs E. C. Schildbach, of Moose Lake, Minn, was here to care for the family and household duties. Dr. and Mrs John SchuiJter had as dinner guests Sunday the former's mother, Mrs Jerry Schutter, David Schutter and.Mr and Mrs Clifford :Mtmson of West Bend, in honor of the third birthday of the Schutter's son, Steven. Mr and Mrs Clem had Mr and Mrs Arthur Parpart of,. Fort Dodge as dinner guests Sunday. Lee Schenck went lo Iowa Cily last week and met Durwood Helberg and both attended the lowa-Minnosota football game. Mr and Mrs Andrew Hansen drove to Des Moines Saturday to visit their daughter, Sheila Ann, R.N. They returned home Sunday. Mr and Mrs Roy Richardson have been visited by the form- fir's son and daughter-in-law, Rev. and Mrs Ray Richardson and family of La Crosse, Wis. ' John W. Leners, son of Mr and Mrs Leo Leners of Algona, scheduled to graduate from recruit training November 28 at the Naval Training Center at Great Lakes. Mr and Mrs James Penlecosl were dinner guests last week Thursday evening at the home of their son-in-law -and daughter, Mr and Mrs Louis Heetland, of Renwick. Mr and Mrs W. L. Snodgress were visited over the weekend by Mrs Snodgress' mother, Mrs Dolly Woltman, of Cherokee and brother-in-law and sister, Mr and Mrs Merlin Young of Cleghorn. Mr and Mrs Herman Warmbier and their son and daughter-in- law, Mr and Mrs Wayne Warmbier of LuVerne left Monday for a two week's visit-at San Antonio, Tex., with Arlene, daughter of the senior Warmbiers.
