4-Algena (la.) Upper D«l MoinW Thursday, November 3, 1955 New Jolly Neighbors Club Formed; Lone Rock Area Lone Rock—Mrs Wayne Drone, Mrs Edwin Wichtendahl. Mr? Elmer Pijahn and Mrs Carl Rhinehardt. were hostesses at a party Wednesday, Sept. 14 at the Drone home for the purpose of organizing a neighbor club. Sixteen ladies were present and Mrs Rhinehardt took charge of the meeting. An election of officers was held with President, Mr? Car] Rhinehardt; vice president, Mrs Orville Gardener: secretary- treasurer, Mrs Roy Kading; reporter. Mrs Wayne Drone. Mrs Edwin Wichtendahl and Mrs Elmer Pijahn had charge of the program. Second meeting of the club was a hnlloween party last Wednesday evening, Oct. 20 in the machine shed at the Carl Rhine- hard) farm. The Jolly Neighbors was the chosen name and a prize was given to Mrs Edwin Luedtke who suggested the name. Each member took a guest and everyone came in costume with pri/.r ; going to Mrs Louise Seege- bartli and Pearl Bayer. A delicious lunch Was served by the hostesses Mrs Charles Abrahamson and Mrs Roger Anderson. The next meeting will be with Mrs Wayne Drone, Nov. 30, Mrs Orville Gardener assisting. I gns had charge of the entertainment plans were made for a card party to be held Nov. 7 at the Joe Vollmer home. Idle Hour Club Idle Hour Club met. Thursday at (lie Art Person home with Mrs Odey Chcrland assisting. Mrs James Cody and Mrs Fred Tig- Mrs Quinn Hostess Mrs Jack Quinn entertained the Lone Rock birthday club Wednesday afternoon in honor of the birthday of Mrs Hulda Schultz. Guests besides the honoree wore Mesdames Maude Blanchard, Rose Kraft, Jim Long, Alex Krueger, Fred Genrich, Mary Flaig and Frank Flaig. Mr and. Mrs firich Seegebarth visited Mrs Lem Marlow at St. Ann hospital Tuesday evening. Miss Marieta • Christenson, of Pueblo, Colo. Visited Thursday evening with Mr nnd Mrs Char- les Morris. Janet Krueger, student nurse at Broadlawn hospital in ,Des Moines, spent the weekend with her parents. Mrs Jack Quinn, Mrs George Kissner, Mrs LcRoy Klepper, Mrs Mary Flaig and Mrs Dave Lynch attended the C. D. A. Halloween party at Bancroft Thursday evening. Mr and Mrs Leslie Johnson and Sue Ann visited the John Nyman home at Swea City Wednesday evening. Mrs Mary Houck of Humboldt visited at the Fred Genrich home from Thursday till Sunday. Mr and Mrs Milton Madison and family called Sunday afternoon at the Walter Madison home in Swea City. Mr and Mrs Ralph Thompson and Lavonne visited Mr and Mrs Jim Long Sunday evening. Mr and Mrs G, A. Sharp of Algona spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs Amanda Pettil. Lola Meyer, daughter of the Frank Meyers, spent the weekend at home. She is attending Briar Cliff college at Sioux City. Mr and Mrs E. A. Lee, Susan and Michael, Mr and Mrs Ronald Christenson, Ann, Nancy, Jean Beth and Jane Ellen, Mr Wm. Christenson were dinner guests Sunday of the A. A. Kruegers. Mr and Mrs Dale Schroeder and Susan, Mrs Eugene Pruitt and David visited Mrs Emma Hurlburt Friday evening. Sunday afternoon Mrs Hurlburt visited at the Orie Hurlburt home in Fenton. Sunday evening Mrs Hurlburt and family were supper guests of the Dflle Sen- rbeders. Mr and Mrs Herman Kramer were dinner and supper guests Sunday at the Dewcy Morse- home in Humboldt. Mr and Mrs Glenn Doty, Mason City, Mr and Mrs Glenn Hughs, Becky and Connie were Sunday dinner guests of Mr and Mrs Andrew Thomson. Mrs Ronald Christcnson entertained a coffee party Thursday afternoon. Guests were Marieta Ghristenson of Pueblo, Colo., Mrs P. M. Christenson, Mrs Milton Madison, Mrs John Munch and Mrs Charles Osborne of Fenton, and Mrs E. A. Lee and Mrs A. A. Krueger. Mr and Mrs Andrew Thomsen attended the funeral Monday of Mrs Maggie AftdeHoh of Royal, la. Mr and Mrs Kenneth Thornsen and family left Monday for Fort Sill, Okla. They have been visiting the Thomsens for some time. Michael Lee celebrated his 7th birthday Friday with a party at his home, Alton Pettit, Wm. Knoll, Art Priebe and Dean Culbertsoh spent Friday and Saturday at Decorah deer hunting with no luck. Mrs E. A. Lee, Mrs A. A. Krueger, Mrs L. A. Newbrough and Mrs Donajd Blanchard and Mrs Chase attended the Kossuth County Council for t&achers at Lakota Wednesday evening.
