Robinson are spending a few days at the former's cottage at Woman Lake, Minn. —o— Mr and Mrs Wesley Bartlelt spent several days of last week in Chicago where they attended « Kiwanis convention. —o— Brigilta Whitlemore entertained nineteen youngsters at a Halloween party on Saturday evening. Entertainment was in form of a scavenger hunt. ~o— Mrs R. C. MGaffee of Sedro Woolie, Washington left Tuesday after a two week's visit here with her brother-irtj^flw and sister, Mr and Mrs ClaytoVi Lammers. The.Presbyterian Women's Organization is having a bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 10, iti the Moose Hall. Ruth Circle will serve lunch. —0— The monthly leaders meeting of the Girl Scouts was held Tuesday evening ut the Druggist Mutual Insurance building. Mrs James Kolp is chairman of the group. Mrs Ruth McVay's morning group of kindergartners at Bryant had a pot luck supper for their parents and families last Wednesday evening at the high school annex. One hundred twenty five people were present. A similar party was held last night, (Wednesday) for the afternoon group. Mr! fliehafd tuft entertained her bridge club at her home on Thursday evening. Mr and Mrs Walter Schildknecht had as their dinner guests Tuesday evening, the former's parents, Mr and Mrs Walter Schildknecht, Sr. of Eslherville, f\ . Beth Annis went to Estherville Wednesday evening where she presented a report on "the state convention at a P.E.O. meeting She was accompanied by Mrs W. A. Barllett and others. ()__ Mr and Mrs Harlan Herbers came from their home in Wells. Minn, to attend the fall banquet and dance of the Beta Sigmtt sorority Tuesday evening. Mrs Herbers is the former Iris Lieb. . .Q . Mr and Mrs Richard Maihes left Monday for their new home in Green Bay, Wis. Mr Mathes has a position with a shoe company there and will train toward store management. Mrs Mathes is the former Ruth Shierk. • —o— Mr and Mrs Clair Thomas had as their guests on Thursday and Friday of last week, Mr and Mrs James Chillas of Chicago. Both couples went to Grinnell for the weekend to attend the college homecoming. —o—Mr and Mrs William Sieele entertained a few friends Friday evening in honor of Jim Bishop, former Algonan who was visiting here. He was an overnight guest of Dr. and Mrs C. C. Shierk. —o— Alpha Psi Meeting The Alpha Psi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met in the Alano rooms Oct. 25 for a business meeting and party. President Anita Thissen presided. June Winkel gave the lesson. Jan Anderson was party hostess. Cards were the evening's entertainment followed by refreshments. He has been named JeVry Lester and he has a brother and a sister. Mrs Engstrom is the former Nonna Voyles. —o— Ronnie, son of Mr and Mfs Walter Schildknecht, was given a Halloween party Saturday in honor of his fourth birthday. Guests were Linda Allen, Billv Hurt, Steve Voyles, Gerald Witt- copf. Doug Stevens, Robbie Claude, Max Laird and the honoree's sister, De De. Mark Snyder and Crnig Taylor were unable to attend. , Roger Phillips returned Sunday from a seventeen day hunting trip to Wyoming. He went with K group of friends from Qtturhwa and bagged ah elk, an antelope and a deer. Mrs Phillips was in 6es Moines during her husbahd's obsencp'i visiting her daughter, Mrs Glen Frederickson who returned to Algona with Mr and Mrs Phillips for a Week's visit. —o— Harriet Brown was honoree at a bridal shower Monday evening at the Presbyterian church. Hostesses were Mesdames A. W. Huenhold, Frank Butts, B. J. Holcomb, A. W. Amunson, C. A, Merrifield, Casey Loss, W. J. Finn and Elmer Cook. Miss Brown will be married Nov. 11 to Ronald Peterson. Mr* Hugh Cblwell accompanied her daughter, Mrs Harold BanWart a h d granddaughter, Betty to Rochester-, Minn, on Tuesday, the little girl has had heart surgery in the past and was returning to the hospitals there for a check-up. Mrs Banwart is the former Lois Colwell and her husband, a former Algona boy, is a dentist at Adel, Iowa. —o— Mr and Mrs Clayton Lammers are the parents of a son, born Sunday Oct. 23 at St. Ann hospital. He has been named Gary Jackson and he weighed eight pounds, five ounces at birth. The Lammers also have a daughter, Lynn who is 5. Mr Lammers mother, Mrs B. J. Lammers ol Watertowh, S. D. is visiting here and assisting in the care of the baby. Sorority Banquet The annual fall banquet of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority chapters was held Tuesday evening, Nov. 1, at the K.C. Hall at 6:30. The Alpha Psi chapter initiated three pledges: Pat Dupuis, Lou Roberts and Pat McGinnis. The Exemplar Xi Xi chapter also took in two members from the Alphb Psi chapter: Beverly Will and Pat Taylor. Dancing followed. The next meeting of the Alpha Psi chapter will be on Nov. 8 at the home o! Helen Schleivert. Lark, daughter of Mr afld Mrs James Whittemore, was.hbhoree at a party on Saturday, the occasion was her seventh birthday. Guests were Jean Milder, Jean Sigsbee, Evelyn Ferguson,!
