MARK BHD. On the 2 let by the llev J. L. Staples, Mr. Simon Belles, of Hanover, Luzerne County, and Miss Annetta Te-ter, of Stoddartsville, Monroe CoM.

Pa. )c Icffcrscmicut. THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 1858. Sf- In order to lay before our readers to-day, the whole of Col. Forney's speech, we arc compelled to defer several articles arranged for this week's paper.

We publish to day the speech of Col. 'Forney, delivered at Tarrytowo, N. on Thursday last, on the occasion of a meeting of the friends of Hon. J. Ilaskin.

Hawkins' friends are making arrangements to return him again to Con as ho. took a decided stand against Bucbauan's Lecoinpton policy. Col. Forney's statements will be received by all good Democrats as truths, and we commend the speech to all who have been taught to disbelieve the charge made by the Republicans again-t the Administration. IShow this speech to your neighbor aud requer-t him to read it.

(T On Friday the 3d Mr. Michael n. Wolfe, of SmitLGeld township, killed near his house, a large eagle, meas uring from tip to tip of hi wiugs, evcn feet. Mr. Wolfo had the monster in town on Saturday, on exhibition.

He says that be first discovered the bird near his house, pursued by a number of crows, he took bis gun aud followed it to the woods, where it alighted on a tree a short distance from the ground. Mr. Woife discharged his gun, loaded with shot, three times at the bird; the first shot producing no effect on it the last shot broke its wine, and it came to the ground. Mr. Wolfe Then approached it with the intention of fini-diini; the job with the breech of his gun, when the mounter with open beak, iuto which a mans fiat might have been thrust, pursued him and he was obliged to beat a retreat.

At lenjrth a fourth shot succeeded in giving the enemy his quietus, and Mr. Wolfe returned to camp victorious. We have several quills in our office as trophies of the victory, and we assure our readers they are really curiosities. JEST" The Democratic Convention of Monroe and Pike assembled at the public house of William Place, in Lehman township, Pike county, on Saturday last, and no.ninatcd Col Charles D. Baldness Cuued. For real worth. Wood's Hair Restorative is undoubtedly the best preparation now in use, for restoring hair on bald heads, changing gray hair to its original color, and as a cosmetic or cure for it is fast taking the place of other preparations. No toilet now-a-days is complete without it. Caution.

Beware of worthless imitations, as" several are already in tho mar ket called by different names. Dalley's Magical Pain Extractor In its effects is magical, because the time is so short between disease and a permanent cure: and it is an extractor, as it draws all disease out of the affected part, leaving na ture as nerfect as before the miury. It is scarcely necessary to say that no house, work shop, or manufactury should be one moment without it.
