6-Algorm (la.) Upper Des Moines Thursday, November 3, 1955 LOCALS Mr and Mrs Beecher Lane arid Mr and Mrs Duane Klein spent the weekend at Des Moines attending a conference. MM Elizabeth Post left Sat tirday with her sister-in-law anc niece, Mrs Martha Van Dorston for a few days visit with them a' Newton. Mr and Mrs Harold Smith went to Kanawha Tuesday evening to attend the Junior clasf play in which Mrs Smith's nephew took part. Mr and Mrs Raymond Krebs had the latter's brother and sister-in-law, Mr and Mrs Leo Thilges and family of Bode as supper guests Sunday. Mr and Mrs Elmer Langmack were visited one day and overnight last week by the latter's brother and sister-in-law, Mr and Mrs E. L. Ludvigsen of Kalamazoo, Mich. Ruth Schweppe and her fiance, Norbert Hattendorf, of St. Louis, Mo. spent the weekend with Ruth's parents, Mr and Mrs A. F. Schweppe. Ruth is attending the Broadlawns school of nursing at Des Moines. Bill Ludwig returned to work Monday after a two week's absence from his job with the city. He fell from the roof of his parent's home at West Bend while doing some shingling and suffered a back injury, Mrs Amelia Kain who makes her home with her son-in-law and daughter) Mr and Mrs Robert Liesner, jhas returned from the Lutheran hospital, Ft. Dodge, where she had surgery. Though 85 years old, she has made rapid recovery, Mr and Mrs Rufus Lindhorsl, Bill Lindhorst and Mrs Francis Platt were at Kirksville, Mo., recently to visit the . elder Mrs Lindhorsts' father, George Bell, 85. They stopped at New Hampton to see the .new home which is being built oh a farm where thei Lindhorsts plan to move before long. They home here. plan to sell their Mr and Mrs tieiity Johannsen spent Saturday and pnrt of Sunday at Des Moines with the former's nephew arid wife, Dr. and Mrs William Johannsen. They also attended the Drake - Iowa State football game. Mr and Mrs L. E, Linnan spent Sunday at Maurice with the former's father and sister, John Linnan and Joan. An aunt of Mr Linnan was also there, The senior Mr Linnan is making good recovery from a stroke suffered a year ago. Mr and Mrs Milo Reniz drovw to Mason City Sunday, Oct. 16 to meet their son, Gary who came by plane from Chicago after visiting his two sisters, Mrs James Ireland and Mrs Cecil Steward. Gary lives at Engle- vvood, Calif, and this is his first time home in 7 years. Mr and Mrs James Craig Seeley and son Scottie Bill have been here from Vinton visiting at the parental Howard Seeleys. Mr Seeley is County Extension director. His wife remained here to assist in the house work after Mrs H. Selley returned from the Lutheran hospital, Ft. Dodge, where she had surgery, Mr and Mrs James Ireland and family of five children arrived ast Friday night from Chicago ;o spend the weekend with Mrs Ireland's parents, Mr and Mrs Vlilo Rentz. Rentz's other daugh- ;er, Mrs Narman Henevik of St. 3 aul, Minn, also arrived home Triday night for a visit. Gary tz went back with the Irelands as far as Chicago on his way home to California. • . Mr and Mrs John Mahoney were recently visited by their son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs Lawrence Wier and Pat of Minneapolis, Minn. Later they had as guests their son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs W. DI Storck and Douglas of Blairstown who also visited Mr Storck's mother, Mrs Lillie Storck and Mr and Mrs Don Anderson at Mason City. Mr and Mrs Storck had formerly lived at Mason City, moving to Blairstown a few months ago.
