We know that our loss is her eternal gain To her relatives and friends it was a sad and painful call, but to her whose soul was anchored in an eternal hope, it waa loy. She was in her loth year She lived a consistent Christian, and was a good, kind and loving sister, wife and friend. None knew lier but to lovelier, died in the full triumph of faith.

Her funeral took place from the 6th Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Sunday ev? ening, at 3 O'clock m. Rev. John Jasper officiated. Slip had been a faithful member of thc Sixth Mt.

His physician deemed it necessary for bini to undergo an operation, and Sat? urday, 27th inst was the day decided upon He was placed under the influ- i euee of ether down stairs and after? wards removed upstairs. Before the physicians could begin the work his heart bad ceased to beat. There has been much severe-criti? cism of the medical management of his case. His funeral took place Sunday, 2Mb at the First Baptist Church, Lev. James ll Holmes officiating.

The divine preached an impressive dis? course. The pall-bearers were Profs. James M. Colson, Aleck Dickerson, W. Thompson, EL G.

Chissell, Dr. P. B. Ramsey and Mr. M.
