IT A RY. Digo. in this Village, on the evening of the 1st I. IlKNiY MINIS, sun of Dr. It.

T. Mixs, in the twenty-second year of his age. It has rarely fallen to our lot to record a death which has made a more sensible impression upon our community than that of this amiable young friend. Aside froni the large and honored circle of relatives who were the more immediately affected by his loss, a very general sadness, seemed, upon the announcement of his death, to fall upon all classes of our fellow-eitizens. Nor was it to any a iatter of surprise that such feeling should be manifested, for he wits so kind and in his dispositiun, so pure in his habits, and so gentlemanly in his whole deportment, that he warmly attached to all who becane well acquainted with him.

It was literally true in his history that None knew im but to love him, None named him put to praise." And in his loss there are few among us, who do not mourn the departure of one who was well worthv of their warmest affections. Though but a young Christian, and a recent convert to truth, yet his short discipleship gave most abundant evidence of his love and devotion to the cause of his Redeemer. Prayer for the conversion of his unconverted friends, was one of the habits of his life. And to these prayers were added the most affectionate and faithful personal entreaties and appeals, that they would not iieglect the great intere.sts of their souls. Of all the young converts who have recently been added to the Baptist Church in this Village none were more active and faithful in these respects than he; and for this faithfulness and devotion, none have more fully won the affections and admiration of hisbrethren.

During the lucid moments which the nature of his disoatse permitted, he spoke calmly and cheerfulIY of las wil.inigness t. die if it should be God's will to remove him-of has desire to be with his and to behold the manisions in heaven which were pro-pared by Christ, for his followers. lie exhorted those around him to greater faithfulness in the service of Master, and entreated then so ta hve, that they might meet him in heaven. And having thus borne testimony to the power of religion to comfort and sustain him, he lingered out the remaining period appointed for him, and then cahnly atd quietly fell asleep." His friends sorrowo, but not as those twho have no hope. They believe that Jesus died and rose again and that even so, them also which sleep in Jesus, shaill God bring with him." The Lord comfort them mnore and more." ini 11inds County, ont the 15th A pril, Mrs.

ROlA ES, consort of Mr. CuNarLU JonEs, of Typhoid Fever. Shte was peculiarly distinguished for her affectionate andl self-sacrilicang devotion to her fanmily and attachment to her friends, and her sincerity, firmness, moodesty and amiable d.spolition won for her a tnumerous throng of warm frienids and neighbors. She was a f.iithful of the Methodist is. Church, antd died as she had lived, strong in faith, tmeek an-t trttstinsg to the last.

ller death has ocensiaaned an aching voidl in the d4.oniebtie family eire'e, whticheli ever be tilled; whltslt her memnory will ever be foindly cherished by those whose it was to enjoy her friendship. has been an active demand for this article throughout the week ending to-day at prices varying from 71 to 10 cts. We are in receipt of advices from Liverpool up to the 24th April, which is regarded unfavorable to Cotton. We have heard of no transactions since the receipt of advices. The quotations for Cotton are the same as previous, but the prospects of peace less favorable. We are of the opinion that prices will not be materially effected, and probably fully sustained, as speculators are disposed to and can control the remainder of the present crop.
