Alice Cooper, one of the originators of tte 70s appears to be running out of perversions, grotesque humor and plain bad taste. Of all things, he Serves up a bunch (rf love songs in his new album, of (Warner Bros, records). There are no songs of blowing up schools or loving the dead as in his previous two albums. Instead there are songs cheap street-bought love and immature schoolish crushes. They prove Cooper play anything straight, even love.

One of these love songs is the pretty good Hearted a ballad of oil things. (I guess (hooper is following the Rolling lead). Specifically, the song has some nice music, especially with its slow beginning. Unfortunately, the lyrics are pure junk. AS ALWAYS, THE remaining songs are divided between hard rock and not so hard Holl 5 rwood movie music.

One of the best rockers is the title song with its nice, long guitar riffs and the Cooper humor in lines like, muscle of love, it must be a gift from Most of the other rockers Up a Been Sold and are not too distinguished but okay to bounce your feet to. A touch of Dixieland music is injected into LitUe one of the more pathetic of the movie music songs. The real is Lament which relies heavily on the combined choral talents of liza Minnelli, Playback by Tom Von Malder fifth album. J. Geils Band plays dance music, music that the feet to get up knd move.

Drawing on an intense interest and background in the blues, rock and roll and rhythm and blues, the band forges intense rhythms and forceful beats. Mark Young Art Corner exhibitor La Belle and Ronnis Spector for its success. It has more vitality than the other songs. Back to movie music again, Cooper manages a couple of nice moments in an otherwise boring Man With the Golden (he almost even stole the title from a movie). OF is an album that shock and offers little new in the way of music.

AH of which mean it is a bad album. It is simply disappointing, as is the album package itself. creative about a cardboard box that annoyingly takes up the space of five normal sized albums on a shelf? The school desk of and the billfold of Dollar (both Warner Bros.) were better. Come to think of it, so were the albums better. J.

Geils Band made it big with their reggae-inspired single It To taken from their album (Atlantic records). It was a good song from a solid, exciting album. Now the bank continues the good sounds in (also Atlantic), their Lutheran General decks its walls with VISICEF art Paintings depicting holiday will be on exhibit this month in the lobby of Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge. Genesis plays progressive rock, filled with allusions, rich images and sounds. Queen is a rock sock band in the Led Zeppelin tradition.

second American album is England By the (the Famous (Hiarisma Label records). The album is one tonal picture after another, often reminding one of Emerson, Lake and Palmer or King Oimson (although not as electronic as ELP and far better tlian King Erimson). The soft, melodic Know What I Like (In Your and the instrumental the with Peter flute solos are striking. Also good are of with its classical sounding piano introduction and Cinema a modernization of the Romeo and JuUet theme. The only weak point is that sometimes very obscure in its lyrics.

Although information on the group is skim, py, the albums songs, we are told, were writtai and developed over the past three years. The sound is loud, with thunderous drums and droning guitars.

There is some distortion of vocals and shifting of sound from to speaker. The vocals are usually fine with some Beat- lesque harmonies at times.
