The Academy award winner, pert and lovely Peggy Ann Garner stars in the romantic comedy My Tuesday through Sunday of this week at the Chevy Chase Summer Theater in Wheeling.

Miss Garner won her for her tender, moving performance in "A 1 ree Grows In Brooklyn when a child. Now a beautiful starlet, Peggy Ann moved with ease through the years and, though barely in her late teens, already has sixteen films to her credit, among them such hits as Hill and the Craig Rice mystery, Sweet In this her first major stage appearance in the mid-west, the young American Peggy will play the young Irish naive colleen who comes to live with her snobbish English relatives and there finds romance. The supporting cast includes Ilka Diehl, well known radio star who has played with Ethel Barrymore and other theater as one of the unpleasant, snippy relatives. The talented resident company, Paula Laurence, Martin Kingsley, Will Kuluva and Otis Bigelow, again will be turning in the excellent performances that marked last comedy starring Buster Keaton. Next week, Chevy Chase with the mid-west premiere of one of the most discussed plays of this Broadway season, Up The starring Nina Foch.

This is the play that provoked threats of libel-suits against its author. EMMA MITZGER To start insurance refunds soon to vets A great deal of confusion np parently exists in the minds of veterans and the public on the question of refund on GI policies carried by World War II veterans during World War II, Clarence W. Arnold, Mt.

Prospect Post No. 525 service officer said. The $2,800,000,000 that will he paid to some 16,000,000 veterans after January 1, 1950 is not appropriated from taxes or is not a gift to World War II veterans. It is actually a refund to them individually of the amount of excess premium that wras paid by each of them on their own insurance during World War II. Arnold said.

This was caused by the fact that the death rate of veterans during World War II was less than anticipated and for that reason each veteran is entitled to a refund of his own money paid by him during the war. This refund should have been made years ago but it did require an enormous amount of wTork on thq part of the Veterans Administration in adjusting each one of the accounts involving some 20 million policies carried by 16,000,000 veterans.
