Literary Club Holds First Meeting At Fireside Inn SCOTTVILLE The first meeting of the club year for Scottville Literary Club was held at Hansen's Fireside Inn on Thursday evening with 29 bers and four guests in attendance. A family style chicken and ham dinner was served preceding the meeting, with Mrs. Lyle Swinehart giving the invocation. Mrs. Fred Reader III presided and during the meeting Mrs.

Lawrence Falconer and Mrs. Aaron Miller were named cochairman of the Scott-Teen committee replacing Mrs. Robert Campbell who has left the city. Plans to hold the Autumn Tea on Oct. 2 at the home of Mrs.

H. G. Bacon were announced. The next meeting of the group will be on Oct. 14 at the home of Mrs.

Harold Larsen. Guests at Thursday's meeting were Mesdamcs Richard Chambers, Matt Urka and Ronald Merrill and Miss Karen Lundquist. Farmers Union Picnic Sunday County Farmers Union will hold a picnic at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the Herman Beyer home at Gun lake. Members are reminded to bring their own table service.

Party Honors David Chase SCOTTVILLE David Chase observed his sixth birthday recently and in observance entertained a group of friends at an afternoon party. Games were played and refreshments served featured a birthday cake decorated with a dairy farm motif. David was presented many nice gifts. Present were Mary Yeager, Dick Anderson, Doug Thue, John Rotta, Donn Dougherty, Randy Cogle, Cindy and Debbie Morton, Susan Chase and David, guest of honor. Mrs.

Classes Crowded In Pentwater PENTWATER-School opened in Pentwater Tuesday and all classes are now on regular schedule though working under the handicap of crowded rooms until such time as the new high school building is ready for occupancy. Robert Banninger, "and our high school home economics instructor is teaching her classes strictly as a classroom course from textbook material only until such time as the new home ec room is finished and ready for occupancy.
