Hobart, each engaged in paper sales in the Chicago area, joined forces to form the Barton-Hobart Paper Co. The corporate name of the firm was changed to Hobart Paper Co. in 1927. That same year Percy H. Oliver joined the firm as a salesman and in 1940 became its president.

In 1967 the company merged with the McIntosh Paper forming the Hobart- Mclntosh Paper Co. of today. J. J. Barrett became vice-chairman of the board of the new company, with P.

H. Oliver as chairman of the board, and his son, T. H. Oliver, president. Hobart-Mclntosh Paper Co.

has nationwide service with sales offices in the east as well as warehouse facilities in Cleveland and Elk Grove. Parker Is Promoted DoremusCo. Parker Ekren Doremus Company, New York, has named Parker Ekren oi Mount Prospect, vice president of the firm, as manager of the Chicago office, it was announced by George A. Erickson, chairman of the national advertising and public relations agency. Ekren succeeds Charles C.

Greene, who retired April 39. Greene, who had been with Doremus since 1944, continues as a consultant. Ekren joined Doremus in 1945 and was elected a vice president in 1953. He has served as creative director and an account executive in the Chicago office. Doremus Company serves nationally some of the largest financial and industrial firms in the country.

According to trade statistics it is the 38th largest advertising agency and one of the publicly owned companies in the industry, with offices in New York, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Los Angeles. A native of Chicago, Ekren attended the YMCA College, Northwestern University School of Commerce, the Art Institute of Chicago and the American Academy of Art. He served with the U. S. Navy amphibious forces during World War II.

He is a member of the Society of Ty- ographic Arts and the Chicago Advertising club; and is a former president of the Chicago Junior Association of Commerce and Industry and has served two terms on the Mount Prospect village board.
