a Rage C-4-INDEPENDENT Dec. 1958 MEET TI-NAVY TONIGHT Hammer Quits Lockyers, Sterkel Breaks Shoulder Lockyers AAU of Long Beach, which lost its opener to Long Beach State and also two of its top players--Dick Hammer and Jim Sterkel -this week, will attempt to get back on the win track tonight against Terminal Island Navy the Navy gym. Tip-off p.m. Team manager Don Cosby said Thursday that 'Hammer has quit Lockyers to join the Culver City Rangers, a new AAU quintet made' up mostly of players from last year's Topps Club.
