Rites Scheduled Today For Judah Asimov 72 Magpeth Queens and his sons Isaac Asimov who resides in West Newton Mass has published more than 100 set- -ence and science-fiction books and is a professor at Boston University Stanley Asimov of Roslyn Heights for the past two and a half years assistant managing editor was recently appointed assistant to the publisher of Newsday Also surviving are seven father of science writer Isaac Asimov and Stanley Asimov a Newsday news executive He died Monday in Miami Beach Fla For most of his life Asimov was a resident of Brooklyn where he operated a candy store for more than 25 years He retired in 1953 and later moved to Miami Beach He was a member of the Odd Fellows society He is survived by his wife Anna a daughter Mrs Marcia Repanes of OBITUARIES 1915 She served as resea rch assistant to Dr Cliarles Manning Child a leading biologist of the day from 1915 to 1931 Dr Hyman was president of the Society of Systematic Zoology in 1959 She edited its journal from 1959 to 1903 She also was a member of several other professional societies Dr Hyman was awarded last April the Gold Medal for Distinguished Achievement in Science by the American Museum of Natural History where she had worked since 1937 The honor was bestowed on the occasion of the centennial celebration She is survived by a brother Arthur Hyman of San Diego Calif Louis Milone County
