Williams Mortuary, San Rafael, for the infant son of Mr. and Mrs.

Joseph J. Sousa of 50 Vendola drive, Santa Venetia. The infant, Robert John, died a local hospital from complications following birth. Interment was at Mt. Olivet cemetery.

Sousa is an employee of the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Co. in San Rafael. The Sousas have two other children, William James and Dorothy Ann. Rescuers Hunt Plane CASPER, Wyo. (P) Combined air-ground rescue teams, aided by clearing skies, pressed the search today for a Los Angeles-to-Minneapolis air lines plane missing in Wyoming or South Dakota with nine persons aboard.

SAUSALITO Political activity is still slow in Sausalito where neither Mayor Sylvester McAtee nor Garth X. Basford are running for re-election. James Sample who previously was appointed to fill the six month unexpired term of the late Clyde Hildreth said today that he will definitely be a candidate.

An Oakland automobile salesman, Sample has lived in Sausalito for 15 years at 12 Wray avenue, with his wife Anne. A Texas, he served as a pharmacist's mate in the Navy during the first World War. The Samples 1 have one daughter Mrs. Carroll Paulson of San Rafael. Robert Goshen, a securities salesman for Dean Witter and previously announced his intention to be a candidate.

No papers have been filed yet. Shirley Morgan, president of the chamber of commerce and boat builder, said he has not yet decided. Although nominating papers were taken out by Mrs. Byron Edwards, she said her husband would not be a candidate this year, but may run in the next election.
