Robbins Son, the insurance firm with office just across from Rankin's on Sycamore street. Insurance of one kind or another enters into practically every phase of modern building construction, ownership and use. and both the Rutherford and Rankin interests have protected themselves against the present chance of possible loss, much of the insurance being handled by O. M. Robbins Son.

Before the dream of a new home for could become a reality, one item in which both parties were interested was the cost of insurance on the new building, and the Robbins agency was called on for estimates of rates. These were carefully worked out in detail, and submitted for several classes of buildings, with and without sprinkler equipment, and with and without fire alarm system. The wrecking of an old building Is a hazardous undertaking, and it is difficult to secure insurance on work of this kind to protect against claims by workmen or the public in case of injury. George Preble, the contractor on the building, has for years insured his workmen through office, and they were able to arrange to cover this wrecking job for him, under both compensation and public liability insurance policies. O.

M. Robbins Son also carried the compensation insurance on the excavating, the foundation work, the brick-laying, all the carpentry work, the mill work incidental to the construction, the electrical wiring, and the painting and finishing of the fixtures in the new building.
