For 32 years she was captain of the Usher Board's group No. 1, and was a member of the United Ushers Benevolent League and the United Ushers Association. She was a member of Ga- OBITUARIES Dora Hayes: 70-year Baptist Dora Hayes, a New Rochelle school. resident for more than 70 years ing and a prominent member of several groups from the Shiloh Baptist Church there, died Thursday at New Rochelle Hospital Medical Center. She was 89.

The cause of death was unavailable. Mrs. Hayes was born Aug. 22, 1901, in Raleigh, N.C., to William and Sophronia Perry Hunter. She attended Raleigh public schools and moved to New Rochelle after graduating from high Marie A.

Beberman: medical Marie A. Beberman, a longtime Yonkers resident and medical coordinator, died Thursday at Mount Vernon Hospital. She was 47. The cause of death was not disclosed. Mrs.

Beberman was born May 27, 1943, in the Bronx to Frank and Angela Bonnano Porcaro. She attended Bronx schools and graduated from Evander Childs High School. Nathan Bennett: former Nathan Bennett, a former resident of Port Chester and Rye, died of cancer Thursday at Medical University Hospital in Charleston, S.C. He was 68. Mr.

Bennett lived in Port Chester until his late teens and maintained ties to the area throughout his life. He was born Sept. 8, 1922, in Jacksonville, to Frank and Lucille Brown Bennett. As a child he moved to Edisto Island, coordinator for nursing On' 'March 6, 1971, she married Richard G. Beberman at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Mount Vernon.

The couple moved from the Bronx to Yonkers in 1972. Mrs. Beberman was a medical coordinator at the Plaza Nursing Agency in Yonkers, where she worked for four years until March. Prior to that, she worked at Reliable Staffing of Westchester Inc. in New Rochelle and at other home care and nursing Port Chester, Rye resident S.C.

Later he moved to New York City and Port Chester. He enlisted in the Army in 1941, serving in Europe during World War II. Mr. Bennett remained in the Army after the war and served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1962 as a sergeant.

Mr. Bennett later settled in North Charleston, S.C., where he worked in the maintenance department of WCBD-TV until re- COMMUNITY BRIEFS Mamaroneck hires firefighter A White Plains man has been hired to fill a vacancy at the Mamaroneck Town Fire Department. Edmund Volpe was approved for the year firefighter job Wednesday by the Town Board. Volpe will replace Bernard Callahan, who retired.
