NEW CATHOLIC CHURCH RISES IN OLE MA Before the end of next summer doors will open at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Olema. The buff brick and natural wood structure with a 64- foot tower in the rear of the sanctuary will replace the present Catholic church at Point Reyes. Construction was started last December on the church which will seat 312. The top photo shows partial completion of the building while the photo below shows the inside of the tower which will be ed by stained glass to allow a light flow into the altar area of the church, according to Rev. Richard Barron, pastor.

The new structure was designed by Dennis Beatty of Raetze and Beatty, San Francisco architects, and the building is being erected by James J. Clancy and Co. of San Francisco.
