They were at Emmetsburg on Monday visiting friends. Mrs Dwight D. Andrews arrived here Tuesday from her home in Albuquerque, N. M. She is the houseguest of Mrs H. W. Pletch, The Andrews are former Algonans and Dr. Andrews has a clinic in Albuquerque. Mrs Elmer Cook and- her mo- 'ther, Mrs Anna Nelson, spent from Friday through Sunday at Cedar Falls and Waterloo. They visited Mrs Nelson's brother, A, Smith and Mr and Mrs Clarence Lafsen who are former Burt residents. They also attended the Dairy Cattle Congress. The Ei|ht Specs Card Club had dinner at Van's Cafe Wednesday evening in honor of Mrs George Stewart, a former member who is visiting here' from Phoenix, Ariz. Other guests were Mrs Goldie Guderian and Mrs Lester Johnson. Following the dinner the group went to the home of Mrs Clara Pratt for cards Mr and Mrs Bob Lee and daughters, Susanne and Virginia spent a recent Sunday here with Mr and Mrs B. O. Holcomb. They were accompanied by Mr Lee's mother, Mrs Osa Lee who was visiting them. The Leo's are former Algonans, now of Minneapolis. —o— The Men's Club of the Presbyterian church will hold its Father and Son banquet Tuesday evening, Oct. .11 at the church. Rev. Gene Siekman, assistant to the president of Dubuque University will be the guest speaker and the ladies of the church will the meal.
