Kirkwood Vacationers Return Home Golesburg Register-Moil, Golesburg, 111. Wed., Sept. 25, 1963 23 KIRKWOOD - Mr. and Mrs. Otto Swarts have returned home after having been on a vacation trip to Minnesota and Canada since Sept. 6. Places visited in Minnesota were Duluth, Kanora and Long Valley. They spent a week at Long Valley fishing, but report the weather was too hot for catching fish. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Freeberg returned to Berwyn after spending several days in Kirkwood. The Brownie Scouts met Sept. 18 at the Woman's Club Building. Officers were elected as follows: President, Lovena Miller; vice president, Wanda Scott and treasurer, Virginia Ortery. The Kirkwood Rebekah Lodge met in the Odd Fellows Hall Sept. 17. Announced during the meeting was the Rebekah State as­ sembly meeting to be held in Springfield Oct. 15 and 16. Mrs. Hazel D. Dean will go as delegate from the Kirkwood lodge. Mention was made of the birthday party honoring all members of the lodge at the next meeting Oct. 1. The Nile, approximately 4,000 miles long, is the longest single river in the world. Church Worker From East Visits At Fairview FAIRVIEW - Mrs. Anita Welwood of New York City visited two days in the home of Rev. and Mrs. Bartel Bylsma and family. She is the national director of Women's Work of the Reformed Church of America. Bill Lundstrom left for Kenosha, Wis., to attend Carthage College. First Sgt. Marcy Phipps of West Point, N. Y., Mrs. Ina Phipps of Farmington, Mrs. J. W. Lindstrom, Mrs. Gene Rutherford and daughter and Mrs. Berwyn Phipps, Fairview, visited Wednesday with relatives in St rent or. Guam is an unincorporated U. S. territory, administered by the Department of Interior, according to Britannica Book of the Year. DeLong Club Has Session DeLONG-Mcmbcrs of the KYN Club were entertained Wednesday in the home of Mrs. Arthur Howertcr. Game prizes were won by Mrs. Rex Davics and Mrs. John Rose. Mrs. Robert Bailey won a special prize. Mr. and Mrs. Borrcll McWilliams, Terri, Becky and Larry spent a weekend at the Lake of Ozarks. Dale Bonney has returned home after a 2-week vacation in Canada. He was accompanied by Raymond Stock. Mrs. Lillie Plummcr left for a visit, with her son in Bushncll. Mrs. Delia Vice of Oquawka visited Wednesday and Thursday with Mrs. Golda Plummcr. LcRoy Bowman and so Gary motored to St. Louis Sunday and attended the ball game. Capping Fashion The jockey cap in felt or tweed will be a sure -fire favorite with the sportive suits for fall.
