MORNING EVENING 11:00 A.M.—Gianl Band Festival Parade of Bands and Floats. Starts from old Athletic Field and proceeds down State street to Courthouse square. Turns South on Hall and down Nebraska to Annex. ll:30 A.M.—Free Luncheon for all Bands at High School Annex served by Algona Junior Chamber of Commerce. 12:00 Noon—Luncheon for Bandmasters and wives. Band Queens at Algona Hotel. AFTERNOON (At New Courthouse) 2:00 P.M.—Free Movies to selected bands, at Algona Theatre. 2:15 to 3:00 P.M.—Concert by Bode. 2:30 to 3:00 P.M.—Introduction of Band Queens. 3:00 to 3:15 P.M.—Concert by Ledyard. 4:00 P.M.— Free- Moviejrrlo selected* b*nd«, at Algona Theatre. 7:00 P.M.—Program at Kossuth County Fairgrounds, Master of Ceremonies, Herb Hedlund, President of Algona Chamber of Commerce. Entry of Bands and their Queens. Flag raising ceremony by American Legion Color Guard and the Algona Band. V.F.W. Color Guard assists in the morning parade. Crowning of 1955 Algona Band Festival Queen by Miss Marilyn Burgardt 1954 Queen. Introduction of Miss Iowa Golden Girl (Delores Chapman, now at Drake University, Des Moines) • Exhibition by LuVerne Marching Band. Twirling demonstration by Miss Corene Fahrenkrog (Third grade teacher at Lucia Wallace school, Algona) Exhibition by Pomeroy Marching Band.
