Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the PullenBoos Funeral Chapel. The officiate C. R. DePrenger will and burial will be in McClimans Cemetery, Hallsville.

Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m, Tuesday at the chapel. She was married to Albert Gandy. He preceded her in death. A son, Albert Jr. of Lincoln, and a daughter, Mrs.

Edith Huffman of Tucson, survive. Mrs. Alice Purkey FORREST (PNS) Mrs. Alice Purkey, 52, died at 6:55 p.m. Sunday at St.

12, 1915, at Gilman, a daughter of Lewis and Flora Mickler Adams. She married to Alfred Purkey Nov. 6, 1938, at Kentland, Ind. He died May 12, 1967. Surviving are three daughters, Miss Jean Momence; Mrs.

Miller, Clearwater Beach, and Mrs. Ruth Cunningham, Jollet; four sons, Neil, Bradley: Paul, Oak Lawn; Jerry and Richard, both at home; a sister Mrs. Florence Lietz, Urbana; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the WSCS. Carl Andrew COLFAX (PNS) Carl Andrew, 82, died at 7:45 a.m.

Sunday at St. Anthony Hospital, Rockford. Graveside rites will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wiley Cemetery. The Rev.

Ernest Reynolds will officiate. Visitation will be 10 a.m, to noon Tuesday at the Harper Funeral Home. He was born Aug. 25, 1885, at Heyworth, a son of Jasper and Adelaide Brock Andrew. He married Vera Augspurger Jan.

7, 1926, at Lexington. Surviving are his wife; a brother, Albert, Chicago; and a niece, Mrs. Chelsea Lee, Waukegan, who Mr. and Mrs. Andrew raised.

Mr. Andrew was in the produce and seed business in Colfax for about 40 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, The family has suggested that any expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to the proposed Octavia Manor Nursing Home, Jesse Schertz HUDSON Jesse Schertz, 56, died at 9 p.m. Sunday at Mennonite Hospital, Bloomington. Miss Esther, Hesston, and Miss Alma Jane, Hutchison, and a sister, Miss Lena Stalter, Morton. 1 Four brothers and two sisters ceded her in death.

She was a member of Hesston Mennonite Church. Jacob Terviel DELAVAN (PNS) Jacob Terviel, 79, died at 2 a.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital, Quincy, He had been a patient for five months. His funeral Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.

at the Hallman Funeral Home, the Rev. Kenneth Gorrell officiating. Burial will be at Hartsburg Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 o'clock tonight. He was born in Emden, Germany, Dec.

1 22, 1888, the son of Frederick and Mary Eeten Terviel. He was married to Katherine M. Harms Dec. 22, 1914. She died May 11, 1951.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Delbert Devore, Quincy; a son, Albert, Mackinaw; four grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; a brother, Ado, Emden, and a sister, Dena Terveil, Mason City. A daughter, a brother and three sisters preceded him in death. He retired from Caterpiller Tractor Co, in Peoria in 1955. He formerly farmed in the Delavan area and was a member of St.

Peter's Lutheran Church in Emden. Mrs. Addie Stamp LE ROY (PNS) Mrs. Addie Stamp, 82, died at 11 p.m. Saturday at St.

Joseph's Hospital, Bloomington. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bethel Church, the Rev. Bruce Badger officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Stensl Funeral Home. She was born Jan. 20, 1886, at West Liberty, a daughter of Henry Clay and Martha Lewis. She was married to David Stamp at West Liberty in 1909. He died in 1941.

Surviving are a son, Ray, Arrowsmith; two daughters, Mrs. Oma Codner, Jacksonville Beach, Mrs. Marie Miles, Le Roy; a sister, Mrs. Clara Van Cleve, Middletown, Ohio: a brother, Asa Lewis, Middletown Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. A son, two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

She was a member of Bethel Church. Mrs. Lewis moved to Le Roy in 1945. Raleigh Roberts PIPER CITY (PNS) Ra- leigh R. Roberts, 71, died at 9:30 p.m.

Saturday at the Fargo, N.C., veterans hospital. He was a former Piper City resident. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Reilly Funeral Home, the Rev. George Garris officiating.

Burial will be in Brenton Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday. He was born Sept. 15, 1896, at Chatsworth, a son of Frank and Edna McMahan Roberts.

He married Pearl Purdum Nov. 29, 1923, at Chatsworth. She died in 1967. Surviving are a nephew, Joe Roberts, Milford; and a neice, Mrs. Donald Roy, Rankin.

Mr. Roberts operated a restaurant and a bowling alley in Piper City for many years, He was also a building contractor. He was a World War I veteran and a member of the Piper City Masonic Lodge. John Wells WENONA (PNS) John Wells, 89, died at 8:40 p.m. Saturday at Washington Nursing Home, Washington.

He had lived there four years. Graveside rites will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Scott Cemetery, Mount Erie. Friends may call at the Thier-2, ry Funeral Home, Wenona. He was born March 6, 1879, at Mount Erie, a son of David and Melinda McCleary Wells.

He was married to Elma Andrews at Terre Haute, April 2, 1907. She died in 1954. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Rheatha Kemp, 206 Meadows Bloomington; Mrs. Pomerenke, Wenona; Mrs.

Rosemary Hahn and Mrs. Virginia Moreski, both of Toluand Mrs. Evelyn Carlson, ca; Varna; a sister, Mrs. Mamie Butler, Kankakee; and two brothers, W. T.

Wells, Noble; Fred Wells, Mount Erie; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. A son, a brother and a sister preceded him in death. He farmed in the Wenona area for many years before moving to Varna 30 years ago. Mrs. Zetterlind WASHINGTON (PNS) The funeral for Mrs.

Lucille "Sally" Zetterlind, 49, who died Saturday, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Habecker Mortuary. The Rev. John D. Meyer will officiate and burial will be in Hillerest Cemetery, Visitation will' begin at 7 o'clock tonight.

She was born Jan. 10, 1919, in Peoria, a daughter of Louis and Elizabeth Lauper Rau. She was married to Harry Zetterlind in Peoria March 4, 1935, Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Susan Madden, Washington; and Mrs. Joyce Jastrzab, Normal; a brother, Norman Rau, and sister, Mrs.

Ethel B. Haney, both of Peoria; and two grandchildren. A sister preeeded her in death. She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

She lived in Washington 30 years. The family has suggested that any expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to the church memorial fund. Russell Zook Inquest Set An inquest into the Aug. 12 death of Russell F.

1, killed when his truck and a special Illinois Central train carrying Democratic senatorial candidate William G. Clark collided at the Raab Road crossing. Bloomington-Normal Deaths S.Sgt. Malinowski Staff Sgt. Maurice E.

Malinowski, 32, son of Mrs. Carl Malinowski of 1309 W. Grove, Sunday at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Tex. His funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Pearson Funeral Home in Walters, Okla.

Sergeant Malinowski lived in the Bloomington area until he entered the Air Force in May, 1960. His service included a three-year tour of duty in Spain. was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base at Omaha, at time of his illness. While living in Bloomington, Sergeant Malinowski was ployed at Blackford Plumbing and Wilkins Supply Co. He was born June 12, 1936, at Tilden, a son of Mr.

and Mrs. Carl J. Malinowski. He married Elizabeth Thompson Sept. 17, 1965 at Altus, Okla.

Sergeant Malinowski is survived by his mother; his wife; four daughters, Mikki and Connie, at home, and Maurianne and Cindy, Peoria; a son, Burr, at home; four sisters, Miss Hazel Malinowski, 1309 W. Grove; Mrs. Helen Smith, 1507 W. Perry; Mrs. Bernadine Marksteiner, 1226 Jersey, and Mrs.

Donna Raydon, 1515 S. Bunn, and two brothers, Carlin, 105 E. Locust, and Merlin, 1307 N. Western. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.

Alonzo Morgan Alonzo Morgan, 76, of 707 E. Market died at John Warner Hospital, Clinton, at 12:30 a.m. Sunday. He was brought to the Metzler Memorial Home, where a private service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. There will be no visitation. He was born Feb. 19, 1892, a son of J. P.

and Mollie Morgan. He married Rose Pendleton Sept. 23, 1917. She died Nov. 1949.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Helen Pagel, 707 E. Market, with whom he made his home the past several months; Miss Irene, Kenney; Mrs. Louise Metzler, 1115 E. Washington, and Mrs.

at Holy Trinity Church. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Miss Heck was born Sept. 30, 1904, at Chicago, a daughter of and Anna Walska Heck. She is survived by a brother, John, and two sisters, both named Miss Mary, all of Chicago.

A brother and a sister pre- Mrs. Fannie Bailey Mrs. Fannie Bradford Bailey, 86, of Shamel 1 Manor died at 1:10 a.m. Monday at Brokaw Hospital after an illness of two weeks. Mrs.

Bailey was a retired missionary and teacher. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First, United Presbyterian Church at Normal and Friday at the Faith United Presbyterian Church in Monmouth. Mrs. Bailey was born June 1882, at Belleville, the daughter of John Hall and Carrie Capron Holt Bradford.

The family moved to Monmouth in 1895. After teaching five years in rural schools she became a missionary of the United Presbyterian Church in Khartoum North, Egyptian Sudan. She organized a girls' boarding school in Egypt. She returned to the United States in 1915 and received her teaching certificate at the West Teachers College at Macomb. She then taught at Maunaola Seminary at Maui in the Hawaiian Islands.

Mrs. Bailey graduated cum laude from Monmouth College in 1923 and taught history and social science at Monmouth High School 27 years. After her retirement she taught the adult handicapped in Kentucky and lived with a niece, Miss Virginia Bradford at Urbana, before going to Shamel Manor in July, 1966. She was married to John W. Bailey Nov.

Small Tornado Injures Eight By The Associated Press A small tornado dipped down on a recreation area near the Mississippi River in Southern Illinois Sunday, injuring eight persons and causing considerable property damage. St.

Elizabeth Hospital at nearby Granite City said two of the eight were badly hurt. Bernard Pinney, personnel administrator at the hospital, said the two suffered cuts on their legs from flying glass. Names were withheld until relatives could be notified. Most are teen-agers, Pinney said. The twister hit the Sun and Fun Recreation area, located near Interstate Highway about two miles east of the Mississippi River, about 5 p.m.

The area was a manmade lake with sandy beaches and picnic facilities. Authorities said numerous businesses and house trailers i in the vicinity were damaged and that the nearby Ray Jean Subdivision had utility lines knocked down and other damage. The storm area is about 15 miles northeast of St. Louis. One of those at the recreation area who escaped injury was Cindy Alexander, 14, of Collinsville.
