Wednesday Evening, March 1905. THE DECATUR I Page Seven OF Fair Ground Is Turned Into a Construction Camp. Active preparations for the extension of the Illinois Traction company's line aoutb of Carllnville commenced this week when the fair ground at Car- llnville was converted into a camp for the construction force. Tents are being pitched and Ihe hundred men expected to be used on the work are to arrive the present week. Over 125 horses and mules arrived yesterday and are quartered on the fair grounds.

Shovels and such other equipment as will he needed have been coming; In for the last week and thirty carloads of crushed rock were received yesterday for the Initial work to be done on the embankment near Ma- coupln creek. The work will probably begin within the next week and will be pushed as rapidly as possible. It is intended to follow the course of the old right of way of the B. O. to Gtllespic.

The bridge to be built over Macoupln creek will be started as soon as the approaches on this side of the stream are completed so a the material can be readily transported It is expected that tho two miles of track Intervening between the city and the stream will he finished by the middle of next month. Iron for the bridge and stones for the piers and concrete work will arrive In a few days being already on the road The line from Kdwardsville north to meet the present tracks will he starter! at the same tlm and ivork on that end will be pushed as rapidly as the weather will permit.
