Bessie Hamrick; 83, rural Esmond, died Wednesday morning nDeKalb" Public Hospital after a short illness. She was born May 17, 1888, the daughter of John and Cora Kempson Blair. She married Charles Beydler, who died in 1938, and later married Fred Hamrick, who also preceded her in death. Mrs. Hamrick had lived her entire life in the DeKalb-Esmond area.

Store needs new agent for license Mayor Dominic Kirane told the BDR Wednesday night he will contact the management of the National Tea food store in the Belvidere Mall in an effort to iron out the liquor license problem caused by the resignation Monday of assistant manager Bernard Bahling who quit to operate a men's clothing store. Bahling, who recently purchased Grady and Sullivan, was listed on National's license as the local agent for the cor-poration. HAZEL L. BEST Mrs.Hazel L. Best, 81, 627 Grover died at 12:07 a.m. Thursday, at St. Joseph Hospital after an illness of one month.

She was born in Belvidere on June 10, 1890, the daughter of Marcus and Wilmet Richards Thomas. She married Clarence S. (Bud) Best in Belvidere on Dec. 24, 1912, who was an alderman in the 3rd Ward. She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Best is the last of her family and leaves no survivors. She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother. Funeral services will be held at 1 :30 p.m. Saturday at the Buck-Wheeler Funeral Home, with the Rev.

John W. Biggs of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will be in Belvidere Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

E. MAYNARD KLEASNER E. Maynard Kleasner, 75, 714 Grover died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, in St. Joseph Hospital after an illness of three months.

He was born July 12, 1896, in Russellville, the son of Charles and Nellie Mabie Kleasner. He married Bessie Ehlert in Belvidere on Dec. 25, 1915. Mr. Kleasner has resided in Belvidere for the last 38 years, where he operated Maynard's House of Many Things, 502 Logan Ave.

He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Royal Arcanum, and served as a Marine in World War I. He is survived by his wife, Bessie; one daughter, Mrs. Bessie Foss, Belvidere; five grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Edna Wellner, Gordon, Wis.

He was preceded in death by three brothers. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. James Catholic Church, with the Rev. C.

K. McCarren officiating. Burial will be in Belvidere Cemetery. Friends may call at Witbeck-Wheeler-Sabien Funeral Home after 12 p.m. Friday.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, one daughter, and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Quiram Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Romoser officiating. Burial will be in Esmond Cemetery.
