Poly high spiked shoe athletes are now on a diet of cinders in their efforts to get into snape tor a hard schedule of track events; members of the basketball squad are on a diet of blood in preparation for the championship tilt next Tuesday at Fullerton in the final game to untangle the triple tie for the Orange league championship and members of the baseball squad are eating diamond dust daily to round themselves into condition for the Orange league schedule. The first dual meet in the Orange league track schedule will be staged here next Wednesday when the Fullerton and Santa Ana teams clash. The local squad is anxoius to start off the season with a victory in the league schedule and the squad is training hard for this event. Two days after the FuLlerton-Santa Ana clash the locals will hike over to Anaheim to meet the track demons from the Mother Colony school and the following week will jaunt over to Huntington Beach to meet the track team of the high school in the high school in te new oil field. Santa Ana has been in two dual track meets so far this season and has had to be satisfied with the short end of the score in both.

Hollywood first took the locals into camp and then Redlands turned the trick the following week. Santa Ana is not discouraged over these two defeats and there has been marked improvement in the work of the squad since the two disasters. Tomorrow the local baseballers will travel up to Pasadena to meet the nine representing the Pasadena high school. In preparation for this game, the locals crossed bats with a team from Anaheim yesterday, the game ending in a 12 to 12 tie. DAVISCOURT AGAIN LOSES IN MAT BOUT WITH TITLE HOLDER According to reports from Rochester, N.

Dick Daviscourt, of Balboa, aspirant for world heavyweight wrestling honors, has again had his husky shoulders pinned to the mat by Ed (Strangler) Lewis. Lewis and Daviscourt met last night and the Strangler pinned Daviscourt to the mat twice in less than two hours. The headlock was barred in this match. Lewis won the first fall in 1:44:50 with a hammerlock and double wristlock after wearing Daviscourt down with wristlocks. The champion won the second fall In 17m.

Prince won the right to play in the third round on Tuesday when he defeated F. B. Browning, two up and one to play. The tournament has now narrowed down to the semi-finals with F. E.

Farnsworth lined up against Hugh Smith in one match and Freeman and R. E. Reid meeting in the second match. Both of the semi-final matches probably will be played tomorrow. Considerable interest has been aroused in the tournament and a fair crowd was at the club yesterday.

Should weather conditions continue ideal, it is expected there will be a large crowd at the club tomorrow. For the last two weeks the condition of the course has been improved almost daily and right now is in better shape than it ever has been before.
