Cook-Out Held By Scout Leaders Eighteen Girl Scout leaders attended a cook-out at the Call State Park Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Included were 16 from Algona and two from Titonka. The ladies prepared their own dinner at noon and spent the rest of the day discussing and demonstrating fire building, cooking and all other phases of outdoor living. This was the outdoor training portion of the 20-hour course of instructor being given for all Girl Scout leaders this year. Mrs Opal Ankcnbauer and Mrs Helen Mikes were in charge of the day's events. Thursday, Sept. 22, 1955 Algona (la.) Upper Des Moines-7 Portland 4-H Holds Election The Portland 4-H Club held its September meeting at the home of Gary and LeRoy Davis. The leader, Earl Zwiefel, and assistant leader, Web Stewart, were present. The club held election of officers. The officers are as follows: President, David Stewart, vice president, Harris Harms, secretary-treasurer, LeRoy Davis, and reporter, Corinne Zwiefel.
