No. Serenade "Peer Ornt Thy Bite Donen Surveys Trade Board's City Services Preparing for membership drive beginning March 14, Isaac Donen, president of the Rye Board of Trade, made a report today on community and war activities sponsored by the Board. The present project of the board includes the addition of a classified section and information about Rye facilities to next year's Rye telephone directory.

The Board has provided merchants with information on OPA regulations, ceiling prices. and dimouts, Mr. Donen pointed out, and has placed a restriction on pamphlet advertising. It has sponsored hosiery salvage drive, which netted 300 pounds of nylon and silk, WAC Recruiting center with Mrs. Marilyn Gorman as representative, and a victory book drive for merchants.

Mr. Donen disclosed that merchants are now assisting the waste drive, donate to the Red paper Cross bank, and served in the OCD control room when it was in operation. The Board has also donated bonds for rewards in the bond drives and has contributed to the bond sales. he explained, "should explain to merchants why should join, not only for personal gains but also for the community effort." Work done by Board of in Rye Includes the adjustment of complaints between merchant and consumer and acting as a source of information to prospective Rye residents. The Board plans to sponsor bridge party this month for the benefit of the Red Cross and will discuss plans at the March, 14 meeting.

Kay Byrne, Rye, Named To Join USO Golf Tours Kathleen' Byrne of 46 Rosemore Street, Rye, New York State Women's golf champion, has been named a member of a USO sponsored team of nationally prominent golfers who will entertain on the links for servicemen in the South. A potential fire menace produced by storage off tanks belonging to the Suburban Oil Company, located near William Edgar John Associates, Milton Point boatyard, was criticized last night by members of Rye City Councll. Councilman Robert P. Hughes called the tanks "a very real hazard" and said "it the oll ever got loose it would wipe out good part of that section." Councilman William F.

Irwin pointed out that the tanks are located dangerously near supply piles belonging to the boatyard. The Council referred the matter to Raymond Murphy, city and the Fire Department for Investigation. The discussion arose following the Council's renewal of the boatyard's lease, for city-owned land which provides that the yard pay the city $300 a year, which, Mr. Hughes pointed out, based on taxes which would have been produced if the land were privately owned.
