I Obituaries Reginald Denny at 75 Acted in Films on Stage John Gorman Oneof First Los Angeles Reginald Denny 75 veteran stage and movie actor who appeared in more than 200 films died of a stroke at a Surrey hospital Friday while visiting relatives in England Denny drew acclaim for his role as Col Pickering in Fair Ladvn in which lie appeared on Broadway with Julie Andrews and Rex Harrison from 1957- to 1959 Two of his most noteworthy films were the World in 80 bays" and a co-5 tarring role with Cary Grant in Blandings Builds His Dream A tall and debonaire figure trim moustache gave him a lordly appearance which he garnished frequently with a well-known sense of humor both on the stage and off He was bom in Richmond Surrey the son of a family reputed to be one of most venerated acting families In 1912 he came to the US to appear in Quaker He then returned to England to play lead baritone in such hits of the era as "The Night "Gvpsy and rink He returned to America after the war and St Albans NY Gorman joined the Navy in 1913 as a radioman and made it his work During World War I he served on Atlantic transports In 1933 he retired from the Naw and worked aboard the Cape-Mav NJ lighthouse ship But in December 1941 he rejoined the Navy and spent the war vears working for the New York port office inspecting radio installations aboard naval vessels He retired again from the Navy in 1943 and worked as an import-export agent for the Co Gorman who lived at 145-S4 1S1 St Mrs Kate Rowse Of Patchogue 81 Patchogue Kate Rowse 81 active for many years in the USO and the Catholic Daugh ters of America died Friday in the Sunset Pest Nursing Home Fort Jefferson where she had been taken after a stroke Mrs Rowse of 437 Ocean Are is survived bv two sons Herbert and Kevin and a daughter Mrs Kathleen ten Iloopen all of Patchogue Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren A Requiem Mass will be offered at 10 AM tomorrow in St Francis deSales Church Patchogue Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Coram Augusta Psenka Rites Wednesday Berwyn III Mrs Augusta Psenka daughter of the founder of the first Czechoslovakian daily newspaper in the US died vesterday at her home She was 90 Mrs Psenka was the daughter of the late August Geringer founder of Svomost Her late husband Psenka was managing editor of the newspaper Survivors include a brother Vladimir Geringer of Phoenix and a niece with whom she made her home Funeral services will be held here Wednesday The body will be cremated US Navy Springfield Gardens is survived by his wife industrialist Lord Baillieu of Sefton died in a Melbourne hospital Saturday after a long illness He was 77 He had been president of the Dunlop Rubber Co since 1937 The title now passes to his eldest son the Hon William Latham Baillieu 51 of Chiddingky England Lord Baillieu served in Europe and Egypt with the Australian Imperial Forces and the Royal Air Force in World War I After the war he entered the business of his father William Lawrence Baillieu who made a fortune in land coal rubber zinc and lead Lena Hoffmann Services Today Glen Head Services were to be held today for Lena Hoffmann 83 who died Saturday in Community Hospital Clcn Cove Mrs Hoffmann came to Long Island from Germany at the age of 15 Before his death she and her late husband William ran a truck form in Elmhurst She has since lived in Glen Cove and at the time of her death was residing with her daughter at 110 Glen Head Rd Clcn Head Mrs Hoffmann Is survived by her daughter Mrs Freda Neef of Glen Head and a son John Hoffmann of Forest Hills Also surviving are five grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren Services will be at the Kramer Mortuary in Glen Cove today Burial will follow at Mt Olivet
