Messrs. Jones and Smith from east side crossed the hills lsst week. i The autos were spinning round our boulevards last week and took dinner at Myers on the Wiley Ranch. Misses Hazel Brown and Virginia Harbolt visited with Mable Longstreth Saturday evening. Mrs.

Robert Warthen was a Lakin visitor Saturday. Mrs. Smith who has been quite sick is better. A. N.

Brooks was a business caller at Johnston's Monday. Several new scholars were enrolled last week. Mr. Campbell and family were Lakin Saturday. Mrs.

Wra, Bell received a telegram last weak stating that her brother was dangerously ill with typhoid fever. Hoy Rosecrans spent Sunday afternoon with Chas. Funston. Olive Bandy has been improving her residence by putting in new windows and cementing the walls. There will be a Christmas entertainment at the Kearny school house.

Mrs, Mary E. Cline and daugh-' ter, Frank Cooper will spend the holidays with relatives in Mrs. Enos Shot well, gave a din ner Sunday in honor of her hus-bind'3 birthday. Mr. and Mrs.

Middleton and Miss Ona Enslow while enroute for Washington, stoppad of at Lakin and are visiting their fa-thcr, P. Enslow. Rev. W. S.

Prather and wife were in town shopping Saturday. Boy's knee pants and youth's long pants at cost 'at Mullany, Houser's. Avery Glass will leave here next Sunday for Ness City, where he will run a repair shop. He has been here a year and has made a host of friends who will be very sory to have him leave.
