"There was quite of bit of concern over her and her activities, and the effort of the sheriff's office and other agencies and her conviction only bore out the concerns the people of Hesperia had. It's good news for the people ofHesperia." Murray would not talk to a reporter Tuesday. A recorded message on the Arroyo Street telephone referred callers wanting to reach Ann or Alicia to another telephone number.

A woman who answered at that number, saying "Especially for You," identified herself as Anita Murray before hanging up. The business on Central Avenue in Upland is next to an adult book store and sells lingerie, said a man ho answered the book store telephone. A second telephone call to "Especially For You" was answered by a man who said there was no one named Anita Murray there. Angeles judge fines Hesperia woman $10,000 6i We've prosecuted cases in the past that involved videos featuring simulated sexual torture, which is bad enough, but now we're beginning to see cases like this one where the torture and pain are real. 5 LA.

City Attorney Jim Hahn Continued fromB1 videos for The inquiry was part of the vice division's ongoing undercover operation to monitor pornographic materials entering the Los Angeles area, Deputy City Attorney Michael Guarino said. The advertisement gave two addresses one a post office box in Ontario and the other a street address in Hesperia that turned out to be a private post box rental business. The investigation revealed that Murray used both boxes to conduct her mail-order business, Guarino said. After receiving a video by mail, detectives launched a surveillance operation that included the two post box locations and two homes Murray owned in Hesperia and used as her residences. Hahn said.

During the course of the investigation, which spanned almost a year, investigators purchased more ideos and observed der business. Both Hesperia houses were raided last Jan. 12 in a joint operation with the San Bernardino County Sheriffs Department. Hahn said. Meanwhile, Hesperia residents living near one ofthe houses on Arroyo Street complained to the city council about suspected illegal activity there.

Neighbors said Murray had held social events for transvestites at the house, located near an elementary school. During a raid on a house where videos were filmed, investigators found a dungeon with chains, whips, electric cattle prods and gloves with needles, items used in sexual torture and bondage, Hahn said. Among the videos involved in the prosecution was one titled "If the Shoe Fits." described in newspaper advertisements as a "truly unique videotape blending foot worship and fetishism with an incredibly heavy SM (sadomasochistic) scene." The (iu-minute color videos sold for about $60 each, Hahn said. Hesperia Mayor Bruce Kitch Murray conducting her mail-or- momenta Htohlond. Co..
