The state provides amply for the blind and for its deaf mutes.

The city and county furnish a hospital for the sick poor. An orphanage is needed for the fatherless and neglected children. Let the little folks be cared for; let them come into posses sion of Christian training and liberal eau cation. of nnr -honbeU for a 'veterans' nome. a nooie work! But, many of the honored veterans have helpless little sons and daughters in need of a "home." Shall we not provide a city of refuge for helpless children? The "soldiers' home" is established for a generation only.

The soldiers' claims upon our charity belong to the present age only. The poor orphans fcare always with society, and on the stre ts of the city. For them a pebpetual home is needed. Let us provide a home now, hia aomi-centenmialof Texas, in the city of Austin. There are grandchildren of the Alamo martyrs, of Texas veterans, of soldiers who fell in the late war, pleading for home.

The orphans' home needs a spacioas lot the transaction of such as mav come before the S. H. Smith, Secretary. year, and lor other business meeting. V.
