It is said that Mr. Taylor has the support of practicallj the entire Seattle delegation. Several matters have been discussed locally in reference to changes in the laws of the state. Many are urging thai the mayor and members of the city council of Wenatchee should be paid a salary and in order that this can be done, it will be necessary thai a law be passed along those lines. It has been suggested that the question of a salary be made optional with the people of the city.

In a place like Wenatchee where so much improvement is going on and where the biggest business in the city that of the city itself, it is regarded no more than right that, these men should receive remuneration. Another change which has been suggested, and that suggestion comes from Cashmere, is to the effect that ihe county superintendent of schools should have more power. At the present time, according to those who are favoring the idea, too many tilings have to be referred to the stafe superintendent. To remedy this is the object of the proposed new law.
