Grain Futures CHICAGO (AP)-Wheat futures were mostly firm in early transactions on the Board of Trade today, reflecting additional purchases of wheat by Russia. Reports that Russia had bought 58.5 million bushels of wheat from Australia after purchasing 228 million bushels from Canada over the weekend, stirred new demand for wheat futures. Demand for corn futures was moderately heavy around the opening while most rye and soybean contracts weakened on prof it-taking following Tuesday's sharp gains. Wheat was % higher to Vs lower, September $1.93Vs; corn unchanged to % higher, September $1.30%; oats V\ higher to % lower, September 66V4 cents; rye V2 higher to 2% lower, September $1.46 and soybeans % lower to % higher, September $2.64%. Chrysler Corp. announced Tuesday it would generally hold the price line on its new models for the fifth straight year. Other auto firms were expected to follow the lead of Chrysler, which was the first to announce prices for the second straight year.
