However the detectives are maintaining the strictest secrecy Arrangements were started today to secure a speedy trial of the prisoner The prosecution now be lieve they will be able to prove the identity of the body of the woman found murdered in Crippens apartments The father of Ethel Clare Leneve said today I had been fearing that that man might do something to my daughter I now believe that Crippen told her there was something wrong with his business and that to avoid trouble she must accompany him She was his stenographer Willing to Be Witness Herald Special New York Aug 1 Declaring his willingness to go to England if his appearance at the trial was necessary Frederick Messenger the stepfather of Crippens murdered wife today expressed satsfaction over the arrest He says I reared her as my own child and they seemed happy until the other woman came into the house Crippens Father Has Faith Herald Special i Los Angeles Cal Aug 1 Sick and bedridden Myron A Crippen the father of Dr Crippen today declared his faith in his sons innoncence Hawley may have been arrested he said but they will never convict him I cannot believe that my son committed such a crime Couple Locked Up Herald Special Quebec Aug 1 Crippen and Mias Leneve are now behind the bars of the closely guarded jail at Parliament House The Montrose arrived here at 130 this morning and was greeted by a
