Itc is an experienced mechanic, however, and 'i. anxious to serve the color.t of his adopted country. TTO-IESE arc some things that have interested uu In the dally recently: A ship, 119 days out of Sydney, Australia, Is long overdue In San Francisco, is a sailing vessel of the old type, the romantic type that is vanishing 'so rapidly, and with it the rollicking old sea chanly.

A Wisconsin university freshman student, has been sent, to the reformatory In New York for two years, with all that means to him in his future life, hecavisc he "wrote an obscene poem" and had it published In the school journal, Th'e young editor of the school ipaper received a sentence to the workhouse publishing the poem. Several certain magazines pay other young men good money, and quite a bit of It, to write similar poems. Scribncr's magazine presum- ably paid a good big sum for an article published in a recent Issue, that could undoubtedly give the freshmen thumbs down on anything they know. We are hard to startle, but that Scrlb- ncr article did startle us. George Remua, murderer, who was adjudged insane when he killed his wife aftsr chasing her for miles in a taxi, was right In his prediction that he would recover rapidly from his insanity, and has been released from the hospital for the criminally insane.

The state Is to Investigate his release, but, gloomily, we predict that the state will confirm his miraculous recovery. Thus do the wheels of justice grind along. Is It any wonder that, we become bewildered a bit, and resentful," and ashamed? I. It. FIRST BAPTIST Monday-Boy Scout meeting in church at 7:15.
