Loretti Gray is living proof of that Loretta was only thirty five when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. At an age when most women are focused on family; raising children and furthering their careers, breast cancer should be the furthest thing from anyones mind but for Loretta that was not the case at alL "I just knew that I had breast cancer, said Loretta.

I had no immediate family members that had breast cancer and yet, call it a gut feeling, intuition or crazy, I just knew," she said. After convincing her doctor to allow for a mammogram, Loretta's feeling was confirmed, she was in fact, diagnosed with breast cancer. Loretta's journey to remission began with finding a doctor who specialized in breast cancer. After finding a specialist, she had a lumpectomy; chemotherapy and radiation. Aswitheveryone, the Joumey through the battle of breast cancer is unique.

Loretta may have had a gut Ceding that she would be diagnosed with breast cancer but that did not mean die news was any easier to hear. With a husband, young children to raise, a budding career and other family members that she cared for, Loretta did not have time to focus on the illness, she only focused on the road to recovery and wellness. Loretta has now been in remission for 7 years and is still focused on family, raising her children and is still furthering her career. She is currently finishing her associates degree in Allied Health while continuing her iu an LFN at Northeastern Health Systems-Sequoyah. When asked what advice die would give to other young women, Loretta said, "Breast cancer does not discriminate.
