Beardsley ALGONA Mrs. Jim Butler WHITTEMORE The board of judges in the Algona Merchants — Upper Des Moines Recipe Contest was literally "snowed under" with recipes this time! And all of them mighty good ones, too! The''classification for this week was "Jams and Preserves," and from the looks of things, there are some wonderful jams and preserves being made in this area, for the many recipes were outstanding. The decision was hard to make. The board of judges finally gave up trying to pick just one winner, and selected TWO iop recipes. The winners this week will each, therefore, receive a check for S5.00. Next week's classification is "Casserole," and it should bring a flood of fine recipes. Send your favorite (or more than one) to the Recipe Contest Editor, Algona Upper Des Moines, Algona. Please print your name, address and phone number clearly with your recipe. All entries must be recsived before 4:00 P. M. on Mondays, as listed in the contest schedule. Remember! A simple recipe — if it's YOUR FAVORITE — can win the $10.00 cash award! Do it now—send in your favorite recipe! CONTEST SCHEDULE August 25 — Casserole (Recipe must be received by 4:00 P.M.
