I Wic voters ppokc Saturday In no uncertain terms, ami the Interior I Journal, like the Red old Democrat I that it is liows its head in submis sion to the wll of the majority, and nniN the nominees of thc party to its masthead. tf course, the result in the Rovernor's race was great disappointment to the junior editor, wh had done what ho could in Ills' feeble wnv for the success of Mr. I McChesncy. However, he is too pood I Democrat, hopes, to lay one etmw in hfc at the StlCCOSS of the party's ticket, in November, so is willing to take his r.c(lclne like little man, ninl come lip smiling. He has often berfro admonished others to do so when his friends hnvc been foatunatc enough to win, and what is sauce for the gosc sauce for the gander.

There's littfe to be gnined in discussion of the methods by which Mc-Clicsncy was defeated. Suffice It to say that the politicians and the money were against him. He made a magnificent race wluu the real facts are known. Ho has nothing to be ashamed of and has every reason to be very proud of the devoted following which was ever loyal him nnd the cause for which he fought. But it's all over now.

The ticket is named and McChesncy and bis friends should all accept the verdict nnd roll up their sleeves to put it over a big winner in Novmber, just as the Interior Journal intends to do. socco. PENNY'S DRUG STORE, The Louisville Times and Courier-Journal in crowing over the nomination of Stanley, delight at the opportunity to vent their spleen against Haly and Beckham who led the fight for McChesncy and state-wide. Keep it up, boys, rub it in, and sec what it gets you. Wc yellow dog democrats will vote any ticket you hand us, but if you're going to play the game that way, it's a pretty Mife bet that some thousands of the party who don't look at party fealty as we do, won't swallow your nauseous references to two of the cleanest and ablest democrats in the state today, and might resent it by remaining away from the polk in November as they did in the Hager-Willson race in 1007. Assured of no interference b.y the Governor, county officials declared a holiday and erected a double scaffold. More than 5,000 men, women and children nttnded.

The affair took on the aspect of a Lunches were spread on the ground and soda pop and peanut venders were kept busy. Numerous candidates at the primary election grasped the occasion to do a little electioneering. As the traps were sprung the spectators sang, "There Is a Land of Pure Delight," nt the request of the victims. The negroes were convicted of killing a white man. THE REXALL STORE STANFORD, KV.

In Pulaski county a fellow named Sumner was killed by a lawyer by the name of Taylor because the former yelled for his favorite in the circut judge's race. Down in Fulton county, near Sassafras Ridge, Oscar Allison cried out, "liurrun, lor ins man in the circuit judge's race and started a fight in which he was badly wounded and two other men were killed. From these tragedies one would conclude that it is dangerous to express a preference in judicial races, but the fact that Judge Hardin carried four out of four counties for circuit judge in this district shows that there are exceptions in all cases. says that now rhat the "little family scrap" is over in the two dominant parties, the "prohibs" will get busy and lect Rev. Andrew Johnson governor. Friends of the latter in this county, where he lived many yeart, take issue with Mrs. Beauchamp and he will get lktle support here. He is making a success in his high calling and they would do nothing that would interfero with him in the best work that man ever attempted to do that of saving souls.

Saturday was an unlucky day for newspaper men. Loving Gaines, who for years has edited the Elkton I'ro-grss, was overwhelmingly defated for the nomination for lieutenant governor; Col. W. P. WnlUn, foimerly of this city, but now of Lexington, was bested in the race for for Secretary of State, while A.

R. Dyche, who edited tho London Echo for a quarter of a century "also ran" in the Senatorial race in Ids district. The latter was defeated by C. B. Lewis, of Knox.

Now that the primary is a memory, our Lincoln county readers and voters had better pay a little attention to that $130,000 bond Issue for better roads to be voted on oil Sept. 18. The sum wanted sounds mighty big to "po" folks but if it is needed to givo us the roads we should have, 'twill prove a good Investment. "Let the dead past bury the dead." Forget the primary and get ready for tho fracas in November, Don't be foolish enough to say that Stimlcy and the other successful candidates can not win in November but prove your democracy by helping to "put them over." "We feel that we have a very good ticket," says Edwin P. Morrow, in speaking of the republican slate that went through Saturday.

It might be added that Mr. Morrow is especially well pleased with the head of the ticket. (lite rf obtn ritr if IVIf J. tw Coantr I fink J. tflW-y BMtrl natL tint br 1 MRl rte-r of tli firm rf J.
