Baughman Co. Stanford, Ky. MIDDLEBURG A trip to Mintonville, the little mountain village at Green River knob, in the southern part of this county last week, revealed to us many changes since last we were there, some 30 years ago. New residences and business houses have taken the places of the old ones that stood there. Some of the old citizens who lived there at the time we speak of, have moved away, others have passed over the river.

Only two remain, Madison McClure and Tyler Jasper. And they are considerably bent with age. Mr. Jasper sold goods there 40 years ago and has been postmaster for 35 years. The office there does not pay much salary and Mr.

Jasper is much liked by the people, Tipnnp lift Tins fnnfi alone undisturbed. His son, Col. Jasper is one of the i leading there now ana seemed to doing a prosperous business. We spent the night with Mr. J.

T. Jasper, who is one of the substantial citiznes of the town, and a mighty good man. He and Mrs. Jasper know exactly how to make one feel comfortable in their home. Bud Roy runs the village grist mill and is doing well.

He Avas somewhat out of humor though, on account of the road. We tried to console him by telling him there was a good time coming and would probably arrive about June the first. On our return we stopped for a short while with Virgil I Wesley at Joyce. Virgil is getting rich last. He is farmer, merchant and postmaster, besides owning a half interest in the Joyce roller mill, which is doing a big business just now.

The farming interest in that section is being better looked after than heretofore. A large acreage of wheat was sowed last year and most of it looks well, but the people are handicapped by the worst system of roads that it has ever been our lot to travel. Re-jgardless of this fact however, they appear happy and contented, and we can account for it only on the ground that they have plenty to eat, live at home and oroad at the same place. Rev; J. G.

Livingston has been in bed with grip. James Pollard have moved their mill on the Wade property and are now Mrs. Dottie Salmon has been visit-ting her father and mother, Mr. and Mrrs. Tom Manuel.

Henry Miracle has moved to his farm in Laurel county. Here's What You Want The People's Market Place Advertise What You Have to Sell Let the I. J. do your job printing. FOR SALE.
