1002TSL 2374147 Uc4l9 Services CHARLES TROSI "Chuck Charles passed away In Fresno on May 19 2000 at the age of 72 He was bom in Fresno on December 30 1927 to Ralph and Pearl Trosi Charles retired from Valley Medical Center as a Plant Manager after 37 years of employment He Is survived by his brother Frank Trosi and his two sisters Rose Trosi and Florence Brand all of Fresno Charles is also survived by his nephews Lee Brand and wife Patricia and Gary Brand and his niece Janet Brand Visitation will be held at Whitehurst Chapel on Sunday May 21 2000 from 12:00 Noon to 5:00 PM and Monday the 22nd peacefully on May 17 2000 at the age of 78 She was born in Alameda CA on July 20 1921 to Cecil and Leah Fox In 1930 she and her family moved to Fresno where she enioyed the rest of her life with friends and family Pauline graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1939 She met her husband Walter on a blind date and later married him in 1940 They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this September She enioyed her life as a farmer's wife and devoted mother to three daughters She was actively involved in the education of their children She is survived by her husband Walter daughters Carole Brammer of Fresno Sally Bakman Mast of Santa Cruz and Joan Truxler and husband Joe of Toronto Canada eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter sisters Phyllis Berg of 1474451 EARLIER (FD1662) 4444685 PATTI MOULSTER O'KEEFE Patti a resident of Fresno passed away Friday May 12 2000 at age 64 She was a Homemaker Patti was born March 6 1936 in Electric aty WA to Lyman Moulster of Ruff WA and Ethyle "Pat" Patton Moulster of Wenatchee WA Her father's work resulted in Patti attending 37 schools by the time she graduated from high school Contrary to popular theories this did not have an adverse effect on her academic achievement Instead she was involved in what was the predecessor to the GATE program and was asked to attend a special school in the Bay Area that enrolled students of her intellectual ability She chose to remain at home with her family Patti attended college in Fresno and was employed by the Fresno County Sheriff's Department for a number of years She was a voracious reader and her much loved books were often on loan to family and friends It was following a serious bout with bone cancer at 23 that she became interested in philosophy and by the time her recovery was complete she could discuss the subject in depth with expertise Her many Interests included painting needle point poetry astrology swimming cats dogs and helping those in need Patti had a deep love of the ocean and always said being there renewed her spirit It is that spirit that will be missed so desperately by those who loved her Her family and friends will remember the laughter and ioy they shared with this most extraordinary woman Patti was preceded in death by her mother She is survived by her sons Sean O'Keefe and his wife Diane their new baby boy Rory Michael O'Keefe of Fresno her father Lyman her sister Charlene Johnson and her husband Noble of Visalia nephews Noble III and Matthew niece Kelly and her special friends John Uyeoka and Ruthie Espino 2000 He was a week short of his 78th birthday He was bora April 30 1922 in Madera and grew up in Fresno He graduated from Fresno High School and attended Fresno State College before iolning the US Navy during WWII He served on the aircraft carrier FDR in the Atlantic After the war he returned to Fresno and began his business career with an oil company He later served as an executive in the pricing department with several oil companies He and his wife the former Bette Paul married in Fresno and recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary During his business career he and his wife lived in Fresno Sunnyvale Santa Barbara and Riverside They moved to Irvine 22 years ago when he retired While living in Irvine he engaged in various civic and community activities He and his wife attended the Crystal Cathedral In Garden Grove CA A private memorial service was held in Irvine on April 29 2000 He is survived by his wife Bette his daughter Nancy Lightner of Lake Forest his son Wendall Evans of Fresno his sisters Avalon Bickford of Bowie MD and Sharon Evans of San Luis Obispo his two brothers Samuel Evans and Lloyd Evans of Fresno and his two grandchildren Candice and Devon DONALD WHIPPLE Donald beloved father and grandfather passed away on May ll 2000 in Los Angeles at age 76 Don was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Delora in 1997 He was born in Fresno in 1923 and was raised there until iolning the US Navy at the age of 17 in 1941 Through his attendance at Fresno State University he was able to become an officer serving with distinction on a battleship in the Pacific through WWII After the war he re-entered civilian life and completed his bachelor's degree in engineering at Stanford University Married In 1950 Don and Dee settled in Connecticut where they raised a family of three children He pursued a successful career as an Engineer developing manufacturing systems for numerous companies With the development of computers he began assisting companies in developing software and hardware systems for manufacturing processes In 1974 he moved his family to Los Angeles where he started DSI Data Systems for Industry with two colleagues The company flourished and he was able to retire in 1990 Don had a great zest for life He was tremendously devoted to his children and grandchildren His hobbies included racquetball weightlifting gardening cooking (especially Chinese) traveling telling iokes making and drinking wine classical music making and repairing things in his workshop camping skiing attending performances of symphonies art ballet and theater watching sports and reading He is survived and will be greatly missed by his children David Whipple Debra Drischler and Laura Whipple-Cirele sons-in-law Thomas Drischler and memorial service will be held mrnmtm iibhbi GEORGE NEWTON George Newton passed away on May 12 2000 in Los Angeles Mr Newton a resident of Manhattan Beach was preceded in death by his sister Barbara and father George Pace Newton He is survived by his wife Barbara mother Mary Newton of Ardmore OK brother Robert Newton and wife Norma of Grass Valley sister Jacqueline Newton of Los Angeles daughter seasonal firefighter He spent a year with the US Merchant Marine visiting ports in the Far East After his return from sea George served as an Army corporal in Okinawa during the Korean Conflict Following the war George returned to work for CDF in Felton In 1954 George married the former Jean Marie Jeanotte of Santa Cruz In 1962 George took a temporary leave of absence from CDF to attend the University of California Berkley where he maiored in Forestry Science In 1967 George transferred to Fresno where following a heart attack in 1974 he retired as a Forestry Ranger George later worked for Commercial Transfer Inc Industrial Waste Processing and Edwards Lock and Safe He spent the last few years traveling around the world and enioying his home in Manhattan Beach George's family would like to thank Dorothy Tucci Bonnie Brown Chuck Tobias and Bob Waterston for their love and support throughout the years His great sense of humor and intellect will be missed by all Funeral services
