Seven negroes, fully armed, made their appearance at Commons' precinct last remained all day, stopping every negro who approached the polls, placing such ticket as they pleased in his hand, and then marching him under guard to the ballot-box, where they saw that he voted as they directed. After voting the negro guards came to Fayetteville, where they were at arrested by Capt Russell, the police, disarmed, and held ior trial. So bold and. flagrant an outrage has never before been committed in Lincoln county, and its repetition, it known, would riot be tolerated. At the cheap store, there is' now plenty of new Calicoes and Domestics, and anything else you may want, bought last week, and will be sold as cheap as you want them.

Friday night a notice written in red ink, and ornamented with three red ribbon bows, was posted at the court-house, saying that the Ku Klux would take charge of the public peace on election day.
