Lesesne came to Wofford In 1964, was appointed Assistant Dean in 1967 and directed the pioneering Interim program from this position. Wofford was one of the first schools in the nation to adopt the one-month, one-course program. Following this he served as director of development for a year and In 1969 was appointed dean of the College Born in Greenville, Dr. Lesesne was educated in the public schools of Due West. While a student at Erskine, he played baseball and basketball under the man who is now Wofford 's basketball mentor, Gene Alexander.

He also met his wife at Erskine, Ruth Osborne, a native of Ninety Six. Married in 1058, the Lesesne have four children: Julie, 12; Lyle, 10; Joey, and Harry, 4. They are members of Spartanburg's Central United Methodist Church where Dr. Lesesne has served on the Administrative Board. Among his duties outside the academic world, Dr.

Lesesne, commissioned in the Signal Corps, serves as a captain in the South Carolina National Guard. Keeping active in his scholarly discipline, he was recently elected president of the South Carolina Historical Association.
