Brucker, 1310 Hilcrest, N'ormal, was announced Saturday as one of six winners of Rhodes scholarships to Oxford university, according to an Associated Press dispatch. The scholarships were estab lished Id 1904 by Cecil Rhodes. English explorer and empire builder. Each, carries a stipend of 500 pounds sterling a year for two or three years study at Oxford. The awards were suspended dur ing the war and resumed last year.

Brucker is a graduate of the Unlveralty of Illinois and a grad uate there now. Other winners announced Sat urday also included John T. Mc-N'aughton. Pekin. a graduate of DePauw university and now fenior in the Harvard University uaw school.

Meyers, 44, of 1605 South Main street, died suddenly Saturday afternoon while visiting in Decatur. Death was attributed to a heart attack. The body was taken to the Murray Memorial home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Surviving are his mother, at home; a brother, Henry at home, and six sisters, Florence, Decatur; Marie, Washington, D.

and Mrs. Helen Procknow, Mrs. Francis Fassett, Lorene and Rose, all of Chicago. His father and wife preceded him in death. Mr Meyers was born in Bloom-ington on May 27, 1903, the son of Henry and Mary Meyers.

He married Irene Jaspers in Bloom-ington. A World War II veteran, Mr. Meyers was a member of the American Legion. lie was aUo a member of St. Mary's church and was employed at Eureka-Williams.

Murray Funeral Funeral service fur' II. K. (Dob) Murray were held at 2:30 p. m. Saturday at the Murray Memorial home with the Rev.

Chester Grubb officiating. Mrs. Keitn Jump played the organ. Burial was in Park Hill cemetery where the Louis Davis post conducted graveside services. Pallbearers were Yontz Bon nett.
