Fresno passed away February 11 1997 He was the retired Proprietor of Valley Donut and Coffee Shop Mr Kufis was preceded in death by his 2nd wife Adele the mother of Chris Jr and Ernest she passed away two years ago on January 28 1995 He was also precedeased by three brothers James George and William Chris was born on June 10 1912 to Andrew and Georgia Kufis in Fresno CA He graduated from Madera High School and in 1934 founded the Valley Donut and Coffee Shop which was a popular establishment from 1940 through 1975 In addition to the Valley Donut Shop he had operated the Zombie Village the Olympia House the Cuckoos Nest and the Brazil Club these were restaurants and bars that were founded in the late 40's Chris was the loving father of four sons He was always willing to help his brothers or sons when needed He loved the sport of football basketball baseball and boxing and enioyed playing recreational poker He was best known for his big smile and his positive outlook on INe Ho always lifted the lives of those around him He is survived by his four sons Richard James Chris Jr Ernest six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren He is also survived by one brother Ernest Kufis
